UUUGGGHHH

I am so fustrated. I run six miles a day work out with a trainer three days a week, and I have gained five pounds. I hate this. I know it is getting close to that time of the month but last year at this time I wat 12 pounds lighter. I hate the feeling of being fat. I know I am not fat, I used to be a plus size person but it is such a horrible feeling.

Thanks, but all my old summer clothes just don't fit right anymore, I am afraid to try on some of my clothes because I am afraid that they won't fit.

I wouldn't use your weight as your guide post. When I started running regularly, someone suggested that I weigh myself just to make sure I wasn't losing too much weight. Needless to say, I had dropped a clothing size, but gained about 7 pounds. The 7 extra pounds was all muscle that I added to my legs. If I were you, I would use how your clothing fits or your measurements to gauge your progress. The scale will never tell you what percentage of your body weight is muscle and what percentage is fat. Don't let the scale upset you. I'm sure you look fantastic!!

I agree with this... Running 6 miles a day is extreme. Your probably gaining muscle.

You're definitely gaining muscle. I've been going to the gym and taking total body conditioning classes, along with some running, for the past year, and my clothes aren't fitting either. I have gained a few pounds but, my pants/skirts/shorts are a lot tighter. It's because my butt is getting firmer.

Don't get discouraged...you are probably gaining muscle which will make you weigh more. However....you should keep track of your measurments..not what the scale says. When you lose inches..you know you are slimming down.

From experience when I run my legs get bigger...it really could be muscle...FH is a personal trainer the only way to truly know if you lost fat and gained muscle or visa versa is to measure your body fat...did u ever do this? If not you should and then measure it again in a month....Let your body fat percentage tell you how you are doing.

What does your trainer have to say about this? They should definitely help you figure this out and work out a new program for you or something.
