UV Nails

I know it was asked before about the permanent french.....Does anyone know a place in the city that does it, and how much it is?

Thanks!

Sorry can't answer the questions. But I was wondering how did the other nails work out. I remember seeing the pictures but didn't remember if you posted how long they lasted. They looked great.

Not sure about the city but I'd think any reasonably good nail place would do it. I know of 2 in Queens (both around $50) if you can't find anywhere. I am getting them done for the wedding too but haven't gotten them before.

I can't help you with a place in the city---but I've been getting gel (UV) nails for about a year now and love them!!! The gel makes my nails look so much more natural (I can post pics if you're really that interested) and they last a lot longer than the acrylics ever did (Working as a cop in the south bronx..I need to have nails that will last through numerous wrestling matches--and they almost always hold up)---so for girls who have normal jobs that don't require fist fights and wrestling matches.....these will last quite a while between fills. If I hear about a place in the city--I'll let you know. Good luck.

They worked out great, but I didn't have the patience to go back to the salon and take them off, which I should have, bc I tried taking them off myself and ruining my nails that way...but I wanted to try the permanent french UV thing, bc if I don't need a fill only once a month, its less of a hassle than those keeping them of for 2.5 weeks, and then getting them on again....

Hmmmm... I'm not sure about the 1x month thing. I know a bunch of women on FH's side have them and they're perfect for about 1.5-2 weeks and usually after that (around the 2.5 week mark) you need to get them refilled.

There was a post about it earlier, they were calling it Light Concept Nails, and everyone who had gotten it done, said they didn't need fill ins for about three-four weeks....if the case is that I would need a fill in every two weeks, then I'll just do the virtual nails that I did in the city...hmmm..dillema..

I get mine every 2 weeks--but that's because I HAVE to keep them constantly filled--otherwise they come off in fights. If I'm on vacation or out sick--they get filled every 3 weeks.

The thing that these girls were talking about was called Light Concept Nails, they are pretty expensive...but thats what you don't need to get filled every two weeks....we'll see...I have such awful nails, and I hate showing my ring to ppl with my nails looking the way they do

Re: UV Nails

Light Concept is the brand name of the gel. There are a few different brands...but this is the most popular brand.

Most women get their nails filled with this every three weeks.....I get mine every two b/c of my job---but you should be fine every three.

If you already have your own 'natural' nails...the gel will be applied over your own nail....if you have stubs (as I used to)---either a tip will be applied, or they will use an extender to bring your nail out a bit. Then as your own nail grows out--the gel is just re-applied every few weeks.....

Where in Queens?

Honestly do they damage your real nails? I am so tired of the wraps messing up the bedding of my real nails
