can i just take off 1 day before the wedding? i dont wanna waste my vacation days. i know most people are taking 3 but i dont wanna be sitting around anxious. am i really going to have that much to do?

I am taking 3 days off before Wednesday - to get all waxed and stuff Thursday - going to look at a sample CP and flowers, and the RD Friday - Relax mani/pedi with my bridal party, drop cars off at the hotel
that what I have on my list so far. . . . . . .

I think as long as you're sure that you're sure that you're sure that you have nothing left to do, then you can feel free to take one day off. There's no written rule, it's just what is best for you...My wedding's on Saturday my last day will be Wednesday.

i'm most likely only taking off the day before, I dont get paid days off and I'm most likely going to need all the money I can get! FH will prob take off a few days before.

ITA. You can do whatever you feel comfortable with. I'm a procrastinator in the extreme, so I took off the entire week before the wedding. Besides, I just plain didn't wanna go to work.
ETA: But I spent the last year building up my vacation time, so I still have plenty of time to take a cruise (our mini-moon) right after the wedding and then take our real HM in September.

As of now I am taking off as of Wednesday, the wedding is on Saturday. But I may take the whole week off because I am really starting to hate my job!!

take as many or as little as you think you need...................
I am taking Thursday and Friday off for sure, and Wednesday is up in the air (we are getting married on Sunday)....
I know I will have a lot of stuff to do between hanging out with OOTers, getting our apartment ready, packing last minute for HM, mani, pedi, eyebrows, etc etc etc etc..............

prob taking thurs and fri off. there's going to be a lot of scrambling around i feel like, plus things like mani/pedi, dropping off cars at the hotel and rh etc....
I took 3 days off before, I think I would have been a wreck but we actually get comp days for christmas and new years so I used 2 comp days and 1 persoanl day so I still have most of my vacation
PS - It's def not a waste of your vactions!!

im takin 3 off... i wanted to but also after reading a lot of the 09ers advice thread they pretty much ALL suggested taking as many days off before the wedding as you can, a lot of things come up that you dont plan

i only took one day before my wedding for the same reason- it was totally fine. but i had all my stuff in order beforehand so i didnt have much last minute running around either

I'm doing 2 days before (wed and thrus) for a Friday night wedding.
I have stuff planned for Thursday morning (start my hair, waxing, nails, etc) and then Thursday night is the RD.
Wednesday I took off as a precaution...I wouldn't be able to focus at work and that is a necessity, so I figured it'll be best not to screw up there and stay home!
Also gives me time to do any last minute 'OMG I forgot' tasks!

I'm getting married on a Sat and I'm taking Thurs and Fri off. I figured Thurs I can spend time w/ my OOT guests (coming all the way from England) and Fri I will spend w/ my BP and then later on will be our RD.
I wanted to take off more days but it seems like everyone I know is getting married in Aug so I'm taking off 2 other Fridays, then there's my Bach party and then the week after our wedding is my HM. My boss was very nice about trying to make my vac days work for everyone in my dept- I've only been at my job for 8 months and this is the first time I need to take a bunch of days off all at once. I wanted to take off the whole week before my wedding but i dont want the other lady in my dept to be swamped w/ too much work- at my old job i probably woulda just taken the whole month before my wedding haha
