Vacation help!!

OK, got him to put Vegas on hold for a day so I can think. (my budget is $2k) He is looking to book 3 days at the MGM inc. flight taxes etc... 1,600 (2 pax)

I stayed at the gym until 9:30 so I didn't do much. I was thinking of cozumel , cancun .... I think the $$ is going to be the same but the weather forecast doesn't look so hot for the next week or so. need my sun if i'm gonna go all the way over there.

I was in PR a few years ago but I wouldn't mind going back if we would visit el yunque. does anyone know what's the close airport/good hotel etc... I'm sure they'd arrange for a guide/tour for us. the forecast doesn't look so hot either.

Belize and costa rica were on my bucket list too but the weather is also getting a little crappy. (darn you, weather.com)

just went to miami in Feb, maybe sarasota?


Of course when you want to go away last minute it rains every-friggin-where.

any other ideas?

Key west i've been to many times also but i've never been to west palm. gonna check the weather on that...

weather.com says extended forecast rain. i know inFl that usually means just sun showers, but Fh will kill me if i make him go down and it rains.

Last night I found a good deal on expedia for St. John, $922 pp @ the Wyndham inc. air/hotel/flight/taxes/fees, but the weather does not look promising there either

I think he won on this one. vegas it is. it's nice that we're staying where we got engaged too. awww

I would recommend Costa Rica. It's still summer there. Weather-wise it should be fine. When we went for our HM, weather.com said it would rain every day but we only had one day where it spritzed for an hour or so. I highly recommend our hotel too Villa Caletas

Miami is nice...

New Orleans I loved and there is a Casino in the french quarter...

thanks sooo much ladies. I would love to go to aruba and the other southern Caribbean islands but this rain thing has me scared.

I was in DR once for new years and it rained the whole time I was there, like even the day we left we weren't sure if the plane would take off b/c it was like a hurricane out there. literally walking around in the resort in ankle deep water at times.

i checked:

costa rica,
belize
most caribbean islands (jamaica, PR, St. martin, st. john, aruba {seemed to have least chance of showers}
panama
cozumel
cancun
bogota
caracas

they all came up with rainy forecasts. I couldn't find flights to the other costa rican airport on the pacific, forgot the name. don't want to have to drive from san jose.

I would def do somewhere in the US like Utah but I think it's still too cold.

any other suggestions? did i miss any? i think i covered everything in a six hour radius LOL

okay, he booked Vegas May 8-11 at the MGM. I would have like to go somewhere I haven't been but they have hiking, clubs, shows and i can visit some friends so I'm sure it'll be a nice time.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm notebooking them for the next time we need a hot spot.

we just came back from costa rica LOVED IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much caletas is BEUTIFUL!!

Ah. I was going to suggest going to Sedona , AZ.
Beautiful country, romantic and nice for hiking.

Wow, this was exactly what I was looking for. Too bad we booked already earlier today. But I'll def keep it in mind for any other trips we take before the wedding. I'm looking at packages online and it's amazing.
