What is a good place to go in August. Notlocal, we definately want toget on a plane and go. Someplace with a beach, I know the caribbean is tricky because of the hurricane season.

I wouldn't go to the Caribbean in August- it's soooo hot, rains a lot and you risk hurricanes. I would go to the beaches in Southern California (La Jolla is very nice) or to the beaches in Europe (Greek Island, Amalfi Coast, Mallorca, etc) if your budget allows. If not, it's certainly hot enough in the North East to go to a small beach town.

You can find alot of really good deals on cruises in August. We actually went on a cruise out of New York to Bermuda last year. It wasn't too hot and Bermuda is absolutely beautiful...

For the past 3 years, Dh and I have been going on cruises to the caribbean and we never hit a hurricane yet. We usually go the first week of August (to celebrate our anniversary)
You could always do Aruba. It's always breezy and out of the hurricane belt.

I've been to Mexico and Aruba in August and no hurricanes. the Carribean I would watch out for.
