vacation travel....

is there anything that you NEED to take with you on vacation or you would literally dive off the wing of a plane to go home and get it?

i dont really think i NEED anything - i always like to buy new stuff on vacay. i feel like i validate all purchases because i was on vacation....yet i still always manage to over pack.....

This is what I do; As I get ready in the morning I look at everything I grab and use and drop it into my bag. Pack tweezers and matches, make sure that you BRING suntan lotion. It's always much more expensive when you are on vaca - go to costco and get the spray on sunscreen from Coppertone - best stuff ever. Bring along some aloe for the burns you are going to get no matter what. Bring some tea lights for an extra romantic night with your hubby. Bring a hat or a visor - a true saver of your eyes when you are in the sunny islands or anyplace sunny. bring an extra pair of sunglasses and ALWAYS pack your sneakers, extra panties and socks. Don't forget q-tips, cotton balls and a nail file.

I always over pack as well. Better safe than sorry. Right before you leave take out ONE pair of shoes that you really don't need because they are for that ONE outfit that you probably won't wear anyway.

Remember, only 50 lbs per suitcase then they charge you so if you are going to be buying stuff lightly pack an additional suitcase.

I always need to bring all different colored flip flops and sandals cause i never know what i am gonna want to wear. i usually end up wearing one pair of shoes the entire trip....lol

I travel with the thought that if I forget something, I can always buy it wherever I'm going.

I have about 6 hairbrushes then....

I take my sketchpad. It comes everywhere with me. I draw and I write stories and commentary about everything and everyone. If I don't have it I feel physically ill.

Everything else I can buy there.

My hairbrush. I have really long AND thick hair so not just any hairbrush will do. There is a very careful selection process when I need to buy a new one.

This was evidenced the night of our wedding. The limo came to pick us up from the RH. We stopped back at our apartment for something. I realized I didn't have my hairbrush, got out, had the chauffeur open the trunk, and looked through our luggage to the conclusion that it wasn't in there. Kevin said he'd buy me a new one but I told him that wasn't possible. I made him take us back to the RH so I could get it, in the meantime I was on my cell phone trying to reach someone to confirm that it was there and to have it ready for me.

ETA: I also bring it to work with me every day!!

That is the one thing I ALWAYS forget. I seriously spent one vacation using a travel brush
