Vaccinations.... did your baby get all his shots or are you waiting?

My son has an appt next week with a doctor to get 2 shots (how horrible am I, I don't even know what they are). He will be 6 weeks next week. I keep hearing different opinions, about skipping the shots, waiting until after he is 2, etc. Did you let the doctor give the shots to your child or are you waiting? Thanks.

I delayed Emmas shots till she was 4 months old. I wanted to make sure she was able (and I was able) to handle the shots. I also did a lot of thinking about giving her any shots at all. Shes 2 years old and she has had all her shots that she should get to this point. We went in for just shot visits to get her caught up. Her Ped never gave her more than 2 at a time and when it came to the more controversial shots like MMR she only had one that day.

ETA - she hasnt had the chicken pox shot yet though. I am secretly hoping she will get them naturally. I am very skeptical about that shot and its effectiveness in the long term since its so new.

My Dr gives them at months 2,4, and 6 and then at 9 and 12. Jillians gets 3 shots... but at her 6 month she is gettting the flu shot.. i put her on the list 3 months ago....

Samantha had a hepatitis shot at 9 days old! and one at one month

at two months she got two shots, which was today, boy did she cry

I know a lot of people whose babies had shots on the first visit. They cry a few seconds then they are fine
