We have the Dyson Canister vaccum. I love it and so does FH. It's easy to maneuver around, it gets everything minute speck of dirt out of the rugs and on the floors, and the canister is so easy to empty out.

i second the canister dyson. This is what I have and it is great! My grandma had the dyson ball and had to return it because it was not working right

I don't know why but we have both...the ball is terrible in my opinion the ONLY good thing about it is it's light weight. We also have the all floors model it's kind of heavy but it works great!

I Have the Hoover Platinum addition... I actually just got it and have used twice... I like it, it works way better than our old vacuums and works on all types of floors Only bad thing about it is it's kind of heavy to be bringing up and down stairs.

I have a great hoover! It all depends on wether you have more flooring or more carpeting though. I only have carpet in my bedroom and 2 area rugs and I love this one!
