I started my BBB registry today and I have no idea about vacuums. We have hardwood floors with area rugs, what is a good vacuum to register for??

I have the Hoover Anniversary WindTunnel and the suction on it is unreal. It practically takes off on its own when you turn it on.

I have a Dyson -- and I heart my Dyson, it drops down low to clean the hardwood floors.
It is great on rugs and I have had no problems with it at all.
I got it through the HSN/QVC deal so I broke it into the payments. It isn't the cheapest vac, but it is one of the best IMO.

crashing.... we have the Dyson 'Animal' and we love it, we have mostly hardwood floors except our bedroom which is carpet and it works great! We have 2 dogs that shed so a good vacuum for us was a must. I actually like vacuuming lol

I registered for this as well because it was ranked highest on COnsumer Reports and beat out Dyson by a good 10 points!!
ETA: it didn't quote the response about the WIndtunnel Anniversay...oooppss : )

we actually registered for the same one since we have a puppy...no one's bought it for us just yet but that's the present i'm most excited about

we have only hard wood floors and a few small area rungs... right now we just use the swivel vacuum from BBB and then the swifter mop.. together they work well, but we registered for the Dyson ball and the shark to replace them!

Thanks girls! Hmmm everyone seems to love Dyson's. I feel so guilty registering for such an expensive vacuum though. But I guess its good to get a good one and have it forever. I'm gonna check out consumer reports too.
Hahha Barb, we have a shop vac! Its the best, even vacuums up water!
