Re: Vacuum Recommendation

Wish I could, but i'm in love with the Dyson. I put it on our wedding registry, and FMIL bought it, I can't believe it! Best part is, I have a cleaning lady, so she'll be using the best vaccum in town

yeah i'm a dyson fan too (i have it on my registry) but there are other great vacuum's out there also... so you'll be able to find one!!

i would suggest the oreck-- it's like the opposite of the dyson (it's very light weight and it has a bag which is the traditional way vacuums were). They say that having the bag makes it have better pick-up and cleaning ability. the oreck is supposed to be one of the best ones out there.... it's the one my sister wants so the BP chipped in to get her it (the oreck XL, comes free with a year's supply of bags, an arm vac, and a cordless steam iron-- plus, 8 free 'tune-ups'-- they send someone to the house to do it.)

other than that, FMIL swears by her Electrolux. She said she bought one 20 something years ago and it worked forever and ever and she loved it so much, haha-- she gets excited about things like that!!

but that's pretty much it for me-- those are the only brands i have heard great things about! good luck, HTH!!!!!

Re: Vacuum Recommendation

we have a bissell- its a two in one- an upright vaccum, and then part of it come out to be a cannister vac for the stairs or whatever..... its a bagless with a filter and container that you empty, and its GREAT! we have a dog so i vaccum a lot, and its working great so far
as weird as it sounds, i love seeing all teh dirt is picks up in the little container... LOL

Re: Vacuum Recommendation

I grew up on Electrolux...great vacuum.

I decided to buy the Oreck XL2 Ultra because I have severe dust allergies...OMG! This vacuum kicks @ss! Seriously...I'm way too excited about this vacuum. It's also brought the life back to our carpeting.

I would NOT consider a bagless vacuum...that just my honest opinion. I had one once and returned it almost immediately... I couldn't understand the point of sucking up dust and dirt then empty a canister into a garbage...distributing more dust and dirt in the air...

Yeah- It seems as if everyone is getting the bagless vacuums but it isn't good for allergies like I have all year!! I am getting the Oreck.
