Valentina's Bridal..not so..

Great! I know I will probably offend some brides on here, but after what happened to me on Thursday night there I am really having a hard time reading all the cheery remarks about her shop when I was totally embarrased there.

Here goes. Last Sat I was there for the St. Pucchi trunk show. I must have tried on about 9-10 gowns. They were very pleasant and even made me try 2 on twice, but I just was not sure about either one, especially since I just started looking.

Well I made another appt for Thurs night given that I wanted to look at some different designers to compare. When I had originally called for the St. Pucchi show I made the appt because the girl told me I could not see other designers on the truck show day. No problem. And I note I rambled off 9 designers and the girl said they carried all of them and I could try those on Thurs.

Well Thurs comes and I arrive at the store at 7pm to find my mom standing outside the store to surprise me. She said that the woman inside was nasty with her saying my appt was for 6 and I never even called to cancel. Well I stormed in the store and questioned the gentleman that works in there. i even showed him my calendar. He explained there must have been an error or confusion and that if I waited a bit they would take care of me. Well about 10 minutes later Valentina comes up to me with a bit of an attitude and says well what is it that you want to see. When I explained I was there on Sat she then said Oh I remember you. I explained that I wanted to browse some other designers. She arrogantly turned to me and said well like who and what designs. I explained I wasn't sure of what and wanted to try a bunch of different gowns, straight, poofy, etc. Then she said well I have other dresses but they are in the back and i would need 2 days to pull them. Realizing she was not in the mood I said well maybe I could make another appt given that there was a screw up with the appt time. Then she said no that's alright but what do you want to se. So I pulled out my list of designers I had seen that I liked and I rambled them off. Of the 9 she only carries 2. remember the girl who made my appt said they carried all of them. Then she turned to me and said well why do you want to look at Eve of Milady or Tomassina .. those are low end, cheaper $1000 dresses anyone can buy. You looked at St. Pucchi, they don't compare. By this point my blood presure was soaring. So I said well if I had liked Pucchi that I would have purchased on Sat but since I didn't I guess maybe I need to see others. AND BY THE WAY is there something wrong with paying $1000 ????

At that she suggested taht maybe I look at their own collections. She went to the back and started pulling stuff. I then turned to her and asked whether or not she was going tobring out the Eve of ilady dresses and she said... well I can bring you out dresses but I WON'T tell you who the designers is. I looked at her like she had 6 heads. What the hell does that mean. When I asked her why not she said, well we don't do business that way. You don't tell people who the designer is of the dress. That must mean you don't carry it then!!!

That was it. I took my bag and walked right out. I had my sister with me and my girlfriend and before I could say a word my sister turned to me a said 'What a B _ _ _ _ _ that woman (VALENTINA) was.' I will NEVER go back there again and its said because she had some pretty bridesmaids gowns. Sorry girls but this was my experience there.

So I guess she waspissed off that I didn't purchase th $7000 or the $10,000 gowns I tried on Sat. But excuse me when you are contemplating something that expensive you don't just JUMP! And obviously she was extra sweet on Sta given the trunk show rep was there.

I'm sorry you had to go through all of that, but NONE of this surprises me at all!

P.S. Valentina's DOESN'T carry Eve of Milady (low-end my arse btw, their gowns are 1700 and up). That's why they wouldn't 'tell' you the designers!

Ugh!

Re: Valentina's Bridal..not so..

I brought my gown from Valentina's and I am not spending 7000-10000 and they have been so nice to me. I am sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with them.
