Re: Valentines Day

Valentine's Day is on a Monday this year, so we'll probably go out to dinner for it over the weekend and maybe cook dinner together Monday Night?

FH is going to be in Vegas the weekend before Valentines Day. He is working on Monday night so no Valentines Dinner for us! Honestly I hate the holiday anyway so it really does not bother me! It is so a Hallmark Holiday,.

Valentine's day during deployment. ickkkk :(

that's ok. I'll just eat lots of chocolate on the couch lol

ughhh me too! Except that Im' the one deployed (deployed in place is what its called) I've felt that most of the holidays don't really feel like holidays so I haven't missed home any more so than usual, like Christmas didn't feel like Christmas so I didn't end up feeling more lonely than any other day.

Although my mom sure did!

I think you should take the day to treat yourself, like a mani/pedi or splurge and get a massage :)

Neither of us are deployed (we've just been living/working in separate countries), but I'm still going to commiserate with you. By February we'll have had 3 dating anniversaries, an engagement anniversary, and 3 Valentines Days... and we've never been in the same country for any of them! I don't know FH's travel schedule for next month yet, but I'm guessing he'll be away again.

The past two Valentine's Days, I had a 'date' night with a girlfriend here... we watched girly movies, ate chocolate, and drank red wine. Who needs guys anyway? haha

yup. it's rough missing everything with him this year...I just gotta make it until June....!

Maryrose, you'll make it! (And Heather, you too ) FH always tells me that, in grand scheme of things and the forever we have together, this time apart is nothing. I usually scoff when he says it, but he's right. Days go by slowly... but then it'll be June, you'll be together again, and hopefully this time apart will have brought the two of you even closer.

Having done the long distance thing for the past two and a half years, I can say that it does get easier with time... but I'm not sure that that's a good thing!

thanks FH always says something along the lines of that too....I think the latest card said that this time is a drop in the lake of our lives....(he's a mush lol)

being apart, it's doable. worrying about afghan....i can't wait till that parts over!!!!!

Here's to having the board help us pass the time until we all can be with our FH's again

Re: Valentines Day

We usually don't do anything crazy for Valentine's, probably just make dinner and relax.
