Valet Parking complaint at a reception hall---long

Hi Girls I do not normally post on this website but I have to say you are all so wonderful and helpful.
I went to a wedding last weekend and wanted to share my concerns with you and I hope this can help you if you know in advance. The wedding was at Jerricho Terrace. My fiance and I got there almost at the end of the coctail hour because my FH got held back at work. When we pulled in to valet our car, the valet guys told us they would not park our car, The parking was full. It was pouring rain outside and they told us to park our car accross the street and walk. I was in a dress and heels. I told them that it was not our fault it was full we are still guests at the party. They were very rude to us and told us to park the car across the street and walk. The least they could have done is park our car even if it was accross the street!! I have never heard of this in my life. Girls keep in mind that it was pouring rain and we had to cross over Jericho Turnpike. My dress was soaked and my hair was like I just came out of the shower! I was so angry. I just wanted to leave!!!!! At the end of the night people were waiting on a very long line to get their cars from valet. My parents who were also at the wedding told us they were waiting for over a half an hour. Maybe because there was more than one function. I wanted to share this with all you girls since you have been so helpful to me. Make sure you ask your reception hall if they turn people away once the parking lot gets full.

that is just awful. I would have gone inside to speak with the banquet manager. That is ridicules,. I went there for a party once and we had to wait a long time and our car was only 15 steps away from us.

we were at a wedding there too a month ago... and there was no valet to be seen, and we waited awhile.... so we parked it ourselves!!!! Luckily it wasn't raining!

I would insist on going with Kevin while he parked the car, but he would insist that I wait inside for him cause he doesn't want to hear me b*tch the whole night about how awful my hair looks.

But I digress from the topic. I'd be royally ****ed and I know my FH would be blastin' someone for 'their' parking issues or it could go the other way where he paid the valet a little extra to go do it for us.

Jenn, my fiance asked to drop me off but I was soooo angry I did not get out of the car. Yes giving them a little extra might have helped. But at that point we were so pxxxed we just reversed right out of the parking lot.
I dont want to look back at what we did or should have done that night. I am just warning all future brides about this.

That must have been horrible..considering the fact that you were a little late and that it was also raining. I'm sorry that happened to you. If I was in that position I would have made them do what they were supposed to do and park my car! Even if there was no parking I'm sure that they could have figured something out. I think they were just being lazy and inconsiderate.

Actually, I'll be heeding your warning since my friend is getting married there this month (I'm the MOH).
Knock on wood that there won't a problem. She's the only wedding that day at that time, so hopefully they'll be able to accomodate all her guests.

Did you call Jericho Terrace management???

Sorry you had to go thru that, but you should not have to give them extra to do their jobs. You should complain to Jericho Terrace mgmt. cuz I'm sure the B&G didn't pay for their guests to be dissed like that.

I went to a wedding the weekned before last in Bklyn & it was pouring rain. The valet not only parked our car on the street for us, but he went BACK to the car in the pouring rain to get my camera for me cuz I forgot it!! Now he got & deserved something extra!! & this particular hall was in Bklyn & I'm sure not even a fraction of the cost of Jericho Terrace.
