Vamp books

For those of you who love the Twilight books you should definitely read the True Blood books by Charlain Harris (first one is 'Dead until dark') and the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton (first one is 'Guilty Pleasures').
Since reading the Twilight series back in January, the books I've been reading have all been about vamps. There were a couple I didn't really like but I had to read the entire series because I just had to know what happened at the end (I must be crazy).
Of all the series' that I read Twilight is #1, Anita Blake series #2.

Chloe Neill just started a series...the first book is 'Some Girls Bite' and the next is 'Friday Night Bites'....they are really good!!!

I loved the twilight books and true blood!

The Anita Blake series, is it raunchy at all? I think Vampires and raunchiness go hand in hand!!

my problem with the true blood books are they aren't relfected correctly in the series, it makes me mad!

i have read several that are ya but still good: the house of night, blue bloods series and the vampire academy are three of my favorite

also, the black dagger brotherhood series is REALLY good

There's definitely some raunchiness. That's why I like them better than True Blood. Also, the series is much darker than True Blood.

I read the Blue Blood series too. I liked it but not as much as I love Anita Blake. I didn't like how the Van Alen Legacy ended. Is she going to write another book for the series?

loved the twilight series- read the series TWICE

bought the first book from the house of night series- put it down after about 12 chapters.. its the second book i ever put down it was SOOO BAD!

read vampire diaries and fell IN LOVE! I suggest everyone read it. I liked it better then twilight, but will always love twilight. (note the ORIGINAL vamp diaries was amazing, the vamp diaries: the return is really CONFUSING, but is still really good)

I'll eventually read sookie, I just need $$ for the books because I refuse to go to a library.

non-vamp series that I loved- Percy Jackson... i don't care that it was in the childrens section at the bookstore- it was REALLY good!

I need something else to read, I don't think I want anymore vampire books.. I feel like its too much. But I like the whole forbidden love/fantasy thing.. like I LOVED harry potter

I loved the books and I love the show.. but the show pisses me off that in what 8 episodes they're pretty much upto book 3!
I wish they would have stuck to the books... I had a hard time reading the book and watching the show... I got confused on who was who and what was going on.

Yes, the first book is Guilty Pleasures. I think there's like 13 or 14 books in the series.

I'm very hesitant to read Twilight. The fact that my 13 year old cousin is ready to kill for Edward at any time, kind of turns me off, lol. ( I JUST started reading the Harry Potter books because the whole fandom thing finally calmed down)
My mom just called me this morning asking if I had the books because her co-workers told her that you can't put the books down, they're so good. I might have to give in and read them.

I will definitely check out the other series though.

AND, I also agree that vampires=THE SEX!!!

p.s. Does anybody know of any books that are about witches? I've read Anne Rice's Mayfairs, is there anything else out there?

Yes the Black Dagger Brother hood books are really good. Just starting reading them.

vampire diaries touches on witches.. from what I understand, correct me if I'm wrong- LJ Smith also has another series that is about witches and werewolves)
