Please fill me in on the details they dont tell you in the website. I dont mean to be nosy, but I am! How much p/p on a Saturday night? Is it true they will only book a year in advance? Is there a $$ difference between sit down and buffet. Please tell.......

Re: Vanderbilt Mansion Brides!!!
I am not having my reception at Vanderbilt but I did get the information from them (this is the one in Oakdale not Centerport).
Saturday night for April or May with their Elegant menu (their basic menu) was $125 plus tax and gratuity per person with a 125 guest guarantee. I imagine the price would be higher for the Elite menu or for the summer months. Sunday twilight was the same price and other days/times were less.
I was looking to book less than one year ahead. I don't know about booking more than one year ahead.

Re: Vanderbilt Mansion Brides!!!
I am a Vanderbilt bride to be and yes they only book receptions a year in advance. Since they are on the Dowling College campus, they schedule events around the college's calender of which they are only notified a year ahead of time. The price for a Sat. night is $125 sit down or buffet. Feel free to FM me if you have any more questions.

Re: Vanderbilt Mansion Brides!!!
Does anyone know if there is a difference in price between August and September? Also, has anyone inquired about holiday weekends (labor day)? Is there any negotiating? Thanks!!

Re: Vanderbilt Mansion Brides!!!
I am also getting married at the Vanderbilt Mansion and ditto to everything that IreneinChicago said in her email. I am also getting married in August on a Saturday and there was no price difference from during rest of the year. Please send me FM if you have any questions.

Re: Vanderbilt Mansion Brides!!!
I was a Vanderbilt Mansion Bride. It is so awesome and everyone is astonished at the place. But to you question, I believe there was a difference in price for the winter months. The price changes sometime in October but I dont have the paperwork anymore. You can call and get the info. That is what I did when I found out and they were very helpful and nice on the phone. It is true about the one year in advance b/c the school has first dibs on the place.

Re: Vanderbilt Mansion Brides!!!
Go visit the Mansion! The place is BEAUTIFUL. Meet the banquet manager Carolyn, she is a sweetheart. They are very accomodating and will work with you. The food is the best I've tasted at a wedding (and I'm not being biased). The prices you were quoted from the other Ladies are right. I was worried about sticking to the basic menu but honestly, it was more than enough food! GOOD LUCK!
