We're doing pictures before our ceremony and I wanted to see what everyone's opinion was on the Vanderbilt Mansion in Centerport? Our reception is at the Thatched Cottage and I thought this would be perfect.

My MOH took her wedding pictures at Vanderbilt for her wedding (5 years ago when I was her MOH). I was actually looking through them again just this past weekend. They came out gorgeous! It is such a grand and beautiful place. They did a first look/reveal in the stone courtyard, we took lots of pictures on the stairs and in all the archways. If I remember correctly, we were not allowed inside. If I were not getting married in a mansion myself, it was at the top of my list for picture-taking spot.
I know her photog had to apply for a permit to use the place. I think it may have a cost a few hundred dollars back then. Your photog should be able to get the info. HTH!

This does help...thanks. I had booked the Vanderbilt a few weeks ago and did pay the money so that we have full use of the grounds and inside the mansion. I started to question whether or not it was worth the money.

Your pictures will come out beautiful......the grounds at the mansion are so meticulously maintained and will look fantastic in your wedding pictures!

Do you mind to FM me how much they are charging you for that? I love those grounds and when my day finally comes if I'm close enough to the mansion I would love to use the the grounds!

The grounds are beautiful. I grew up near there and have been to the Vanderbilt numerous times. Great choice!

my best friend did exactly this...she got married at thatched and did her pictures at vanderbilt...her pictures look like they are out of a bridal magazine...partial location, partial photographer, they were amazing...
