Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale Available F, 10-05-07!

hey gals - as you know, i pushed up my wedding so that it will be happening in less than month, rather than our original date for next year.

as such, vm in oakdale is available for that day. it's the friday before columbus day. we will only get our deposits back if we get someone else to book on that day (even though we gave them over a year's notice).

so if you know anyone who was/is interested, please pass the word along.

VM is beautiful and i really would have loved to get married there, but some family craziness made me push up the date. i'm certain another bride will be able to have a wonderful wedding there (maybe on 10-05-07)!

there is a law in suffolk county that if you cancel an event 6 months or more before the event you get your money back less a $100 deposit.

there is a thread on this. I was able to get my money back when I cancelled with my first hall less the $100.

ss 237-4 is a loophole for the caterer's. it states that return of the payments should be as soon as reasonably practicable after cancellation and in no event more than 30 days after rebooking. this means i can ask for my money based on this statute, but they are not required to return this money to me right now. i'll try though.
