I think a Cathedral veil with lace that matches the lace on your dress would be gorgeous! The sleeves and lace remind me of Princess Kate's dress...look at her pics...stunning with the cathedral veil!

Re: Veil Advice needed
I actually bought a Mantilla lace edged veil from priscilla of boston when it was closing that was long, maybe cathedral, but it doesn't look right. I don't like it at all.

Re: Veil Advice needed
I LOVED a mantilla laced veil that I found but it was too overwhelming in the cathedral length. I picked a waterfall cathedral veil that has a thin satin piping around the edge its classy yet lets the dress shine through. For my reception veil I have a semi-mantilla lace one, but the lace is only on the bottom half, not framing the face, I feel like if you do the entire edging in lace it'll be overwhelming, but thats JMO.

Thanks for the opinions.
Yeah that's what I feel about lace edged mantilla veils on me. I thought it was pretty and a great bargain in store but then I went home and looked at the pictures I'd taken instore with it on me, I didn't like it at all.

Thanks!
Long or short veil? Any opinions? I know I definitely want a blusher for the ceremony.

Re: Veil Advice needed
I think the best thing to do is to try on a sample dress at the salon where you purchased it with different length veils. I would be afraid to purchase a veil without seeing what it looks like with the dress......once you have a length/style in mind, then start shopping for veils.

Re: Veil Advice needed
Thank you!
The store where I actually purchased my dress doesnt have a sample of my dress otherwise I would have definitely tried on veils with it when I purchased it.
I actually saw the dress at another store that I had bad service with. Then I went to my store to buy there since they were much nicer.
I did try veils at my store without my dress but I have a hard time visualizing what looks best.
I was a bit thrown off as to what to get since the saleslady said maybe a shorter veil would look nicer with my height. I had always thought of getting long, but if long looks bad I don't know. I was trying to come up with a compromise like a waltz length veil but I'm not sure.
Picking a veil has become just as hard as picking a dress for me.

I think Cathedral length would look beautiful - but I would go for something on the simpler side, to let the details of the dress be the focus

Well veils shouldn't need any alterations, so to be sure, you could always wait until your first fitting to select a veil that you can feel confident will look great with your dress.
If waiting that long worries you though... I have tried on several tulle veils that the netting or whatever you call it is so delicate and transparent that every detail of my dress could be seen through the veil. You may want to find a white/ivory cheapo-lace shirt at Forever-21 or some other store like that and wear that when shopping, that way you can judge how well the details of the lace will be seen through your veil.

I think Fingertip with a blusher would be nice and it wouldn't 'hide' the beauty of your dress

Thank you! Yes. I think plain raw edge veils are the way to go, so not sure on length though! I did try one short one on with very discreet tiny swarovski crystals all around the veil, not the edges and it was pretty too.
I need to get a poll on this.. The more opinions the better.
Please keep them coming!
thanks!

Re: Veil Advice needed
i know nothing about the kinds of veils, but i think the simpler and shorter, the better it will allow everyone to really appreciate how gorgeous that dress is!

Re: Veil Advice needed
I think it is really difficult to purchase a veil without seeing it with the dress. As long as your dress comes in early enough I think you should wait and try on different ones with your dress and order it then. You don't want to guess on a veil that doesn't end up matching in the end.
