veil and headpiece

Hi all!
I am wearing my shoulder length hair down with spiral curls and blown out bangs. I am placing the headpiece and veil on top of my head. Does anyone have suggestions on securing the veil to the headpiece? Bobby pins seem iffy...I have Hollywood tape; should I try that?
Also, is it okay to have a separation between the two on the top of my head?

One more thing: I plan to remove the veil at the reception.

Is the veil on its own comb ?

My veil is being attached to the headpiece by velcro, so I have the option of taking the veil off and leaving the spray comb on, or just wearing the two together.
The longer chapel veil will be on its own comb.

The two are separate pieces....the veil has a non-jeweld comb.
I will look into velcro...
