I am pretty bummed. I scheduled my 1st dress fitting for end of this month. So, today I went to B*a*rr*on to see if they would be able to have my veil done ONE day before it was scheduled for me to pick up and was told no (which by the way is 3 weeks away) I ordered the veil about 3 months ago!!! I mean really, not ONE day early??? I asked if I could even get it without all the crystals and I would bring it back etc.. then, My mom offered them more money, but I immediately said NO WAY... I refuse to pay one dime extra. They had my order for almost 4 months... so its kinda frustrating that they wouldn't budge. Needless to say I will be there first thing on the day AFTER my fitting to pick it up.
Sorry, needed a little vent. I rarely get frustrated. I could see if I asked for it 10 days sooner... but 1 day??
ETA: I asked for a sample swatch to at least see the veil material next to my dress... she said NO to that as well

Re: Veil frustration!!
I know... I didn't think it was such a crazy request, especially since I placed my order wayyyy ahead of tim AND gave a large cash deposit.. oh well! Maybe I will get a surprise call that they will miraculously have it done 1 day sooner!

Re: Veil frustration!!
That is ridiculous.
Maybe you can push back you dress fitting a day or two?
B A R R ON S is totally wrong and you shouldn't have to do that but if you want to see it together maybe that is the only way to do it?

NO FAIR!!!! That's very upsetting, I'm sorry. I'm sure it will be beautiful even though they can't push it up for you!

That really stinks that they won't budge! Do they have odd hours and days of operation? Hope it is everything you wanted when you get it the next day!!!

I wish I could change my appointment to Sunday... but my dress shop doesn't do Sunday fittings and I can only get there on weekends! I def. cannot wait a whole other week. I am already not so happy with my dress timeline (as my dress shop never pushed through the rush service I paid for) ahhh oh well.. I hope the veil is PERFECT!!!! At leats my dress shop did make up for their mistake though.

How obnoxious! I can't believe they can't do it just one day sooner
Well, just think of it this way - your second fitting will probably be soon after your first, so you won't have to wait too long. Plus, there's a lot of pins during your first fitting, so it could be better to wait to put the veil on so you don't have to worry about it catching

Re: Veil frustration!!
That woman is very rude! She looked like she wanted to strangle me with one of her veils because I kept trying a bunch of them to decide what kind I wanted... I only ordered mine from her bc it was so cheap... but I usually try not to give my business to RUDE people with no customer service skills!!!

Sadly, I have to agree!! I was a little put off when I originally ordered my veil and she wasn't really showing me ALL lace options. I think she expected me to just pick anything. They choices are not in view and she only pulled some random ones.. thankfully I found something I liked. But I stayed and ordered because yea the prices were good and she wasn't soooo rude, I tried to ignore her. But I was flat out told 'no' about getting it 1 day sooner. I just felt after having my order for over 4 months at that point one day would be somewhat doable. I own a small business and if someone really needs something fast, I try my hardest to do so. Oh well!! Hopefully it turns out fabulous!

This is exactly why I ended up not getting my veil from them... the guy is soooo nice and patient and super super helpful, but the lady is a mean mega nasty biattcchhh!!
I was going to buy 2 veils from them for almost $400 (the guy was showing them to me and I was sold), but I went back and dealt with the woman... she was so rude I walked out! And I had brought the headpiece I bought there so she knew I had already spent $$ there...
I ended up going to David's Bridal and found a really pretty veil for $150! Glad I saved my $$!!!

Why does it take that long to get a veil in? It's not a dress! Crazy! Hope they budge eventually.

Re: Veil frustration!!
i had the same experience! it's disgusting to see how they do business. how can a customer order something soooo far in advance...and have it not ready up until the actual day it's guaranteed???
if you were running a business, wouldn't you have your stuff ready a little ahead of time so it's not rushed and poorly made?
that's proof that they throw the veils together at the last minute. i ordered mine in january and it was supposed to be ready last week. i wanted it, literally, ONE day sooner and they refused!
what kind of business are they running? like you all said, the woman is so nasty too!
i wish i could take my money back because i'm not all that impressed with my veil to be honest!!!

I know it is frustrating and she shouldn't be so rude, but call a few days before. I would put money on it that the veil is in by the time you want it not the day they said it would be ready.

UGH!! Sooooo frustration!! I agree... they must be throwing them together at the very end, it maked me very nervous... especially since I aksed to even pick up up without all the crystals etc.. and then bring it back. Still no!!
The fact that you don't LOVE yours makes me nervous. I wish I could go elsewhere now, but we gave a large cash deposit :(
In the past there were such 'rave' reviews about them! Hopefully it will come out good! My Mom and I will be carefully examining it when we pick up.

Thanks for the advice, but I wouldn't give anymore money till I see the veil. I will just deal with not having it there for my fitting. I am more concerned as to how well it is going to be made/quality etc.. We left a large cash deposit as it is!
