Veil - how did you decide?

Hi, For all of you wearing veils, how did you decide on which length to buy?
I know I dont want cathedral but dont know if I want anything as short as a shoulder length.....really just want to buy one on ebay and not have to go to a bridal salon to try them on...wedding in less than 4 weeks!!

Also any pics would be a great help. TIA.

im getting a single tier cathedral length veil. but go to www.veilshop.com and you can see all the different lengths/tiers of veils from three different perspectives (front, side, back). i found it very helpful!!

I borrowed the veil from a friend who ended up wearing the same dress for her wedding. I loved how it looked so I got off pretty easy!

Well, I knew my dress wouldn't look right with a cathedral length - it just would've been too much. I kind of had a 'look' I was going for and I thought a fingertip veil would look best, but now when I look at pics, I think it should've been a little shorter.

If you can, you should go to Patchogue floral. They have a bunch of veils on combs, all different lengths that you can try on to see what feels the best.

Here's some pics...

I actually DID purchase mine from ebay. I think it ended up being about $30...its a double tier, finger lenth veil with a pencil edge. I knew I didn't want anyhting as long as a Cathedral, as beautiful as they are, and I also figured I wanted something longer than elbow lenth--hence finger tip. Kind of just process of elimination in my case. Good Luck making your decision!

I went to Fantasyland in Patchogue and didn't spend alot of $$ at all. I wasn't sure what I wanted either. Until I went there and tried a few on.

Thanks hopefully I will get one soon.....I think my decision would be easier if I were to wear my hair up as I think they look great that way but unsure what it will be like with my hair down...

I didn't want too short ot too long... so fingertip worked out to be my choice - got it off of ebay for about $35... it's a 2-tier ivory with scattered pearls and ribbon edge

Here's the pic from ebay:

check out fantasyland in Patchogue. Theres a bunch there you can try on and they are a bit cheaper.

I chose fingertip length. I liked the way it looked and was very simple and wouldnt get in the way of anything.

Good Luck

Re: Veil - how did you decide?

I'm getting mine from weddinveil.com. The back of my dress is real simple so I wanted to add something to it with a veil. The cathedral is detachable and will be replaced with a fingertip for the reception. It will be like this but without the scattered daisies.
