Veil or No Veil??

Veil or No Veil??

I'm just wondering what the consensus is on this. I dont want a veil because I feel like it takes away from the dress....everyone I tell thinks I'm crazy. I did try one on the other day with a dress and it looked nice but I also dont see myself spending so much money on a veil that I'll only wear for the ceremony. Thoughts please?

i would say to definitely have a veil. it wont take away from the dress at all, i think it'll actually enhance the look.
and im sure u can find a veil that wont cost so much. search the web, u'll come up with something im sure. but either way, get a veilllll!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I WANT veil. Not only for the ceremony and pictures but because IMO it adds to the dress. I am getting a mantilla cathedral length

welllllllll you don't need to spend that much theres plenty of cheap ones on ebay and i hear the ones at barrons- tri county are not too pricey either. I definitely don't think it takes away from the dress its just a piece of tool, especially if you get something simple. To me its the little touch that makes you look like a real bride, that being said I plan on taking mine off after the ceremony and not spending a lot on mine either!

you MUST get a veil

i strongly believe in this!!!

I really think that the veil is what makes you look like a bride!!!

without a veil, you are just a girl in a white dress! (that is my famous line lol)

you can def find an inexpensive one

VEIL VEIL VEIL!!!

PLUS it is the only time in your entire life that you will be able to wear one...take advantage!!!

what is your budget on a veil and what kind od length have you been looking at? what sort of dress do you have?

My dress is a modified a-line...more like a trumpet style. The veil that my consultant put on me that matched so nicely was $220 which I sort of thought was ridiculous. Like Lena said, it is just a piece of tulle, I can't see myself spending that. The dress has beadwork as well as lace so I feel like that is enough. Now you guys are leaning me more towards getting a veil hahaha.

aww I agree with the girls that the veil will make you look like a bride. That's also why I don't want to take mine off at the reception I want to look like one all day and night! lol

i didn't feel like a 'bride' until i put the veil on....
plus im not comfortable with my arms, and it's a strapless dress (sleeves looked WORSE!)

so the veil gives me a little coverage on my arms, and i think i'll be wearing it the whole night

but it's not weird if u don't want to wear one...not everyone does~!!

my cousin had no veil, she simply had flowers put in her hair and looked beautiful. She didn't want a veil because of the price. I think she looked great. I personally will have one, but that is just me. Do what makes you happy.

I totally understand what you mean. I feel the same way. Plus I'm scared I'm going to ruin my hair taking it out when I go to the reception.

Everyone is insisting I get the veil, so I've fallen under the pressure and have decided to get it. My aunt is making mine though, so I won't be spending much.

I didn't have a veil because the back of my dress was sooo pretty and I didn't want to cover it! I'm 100% happy with my decision, but I think veils are pretty.

I say the veil makes a bride a bride IMO. or maybe go with something modified... like a birdcage veil... or something without a blusher soo its not going over your face....

Barrons at Tri County has nice stuff from what I ahve heard and its cheap.

I think it is really up to you and what you feel comfortable in. FBIL wife did not wear a veil and she looked just as beautiful as a bride should. For myself I have a catherdrial veil. Just remember they don;t have to wear it you do.

lol, I know that if I wear a veil, 5 mins after I put it on, I'll want to rip it off! Stuff near my face annoys me!

No veil for me.
