veil or no veil during reception

veil or no veil during reception

Should I leave my veil on during the reception? It's not a very long veil and I'm wearing my hair half up/half down. I'm afraid I won't feel like a bride if I take it off, but will it get in the way? What is everyone else doing?

i think that i am going to leave mine on. without the veil, it reminds me of Miss America (think about it, ballgown dress with crown). you're only a bride for one day!

I think I'm going to leave mine on as well. I'm going to have towards the back of my head versus on top so it wont annoy me.

I am going to leave mine on too. But I think I will take it off after all the inportant stuff. Like dancing with my father, cake cutting. Just so I do have some pics. I think....

Leaving the headpiecee, losing the veil

ETA: I am wearing a 7ft veil, so it will definately get in the way. I am leaving it on for the first dance & the toast & then it comes off when I am bustling my dress after the toast.

Do whatever feels the most comfortable! I have a 2 tier veil (blusher and fingertip length) and a tiara. If the veil starts to annoy me during the reception, off it goes!

Losing the veil, keeping the tiara...

I am considering changing my veil after the ceremony and pics to an elbow length.
I agree, tiara and ballgown without a veil is kinda 'Miss America'

I think i'm going to keep mine on, when am I ever going to be able to wear one again?

I think my vows are going to make me feel like a bride, not what I wear - I honestly don't understand all this stuff and who relegates what makes a bride feel like a bride. Isn't it all individual?!?!

I'm wearing a cathedral length mantilla so no, I'm not wearing it past the ceremony.

I am taking my veil off immediately after the ceremony. I will be the only one in a tiara and big white dress so I will still feel like a bride. I don't like the look of a veil in every single picture, I feel like it hides your dress and half of your head! I think it looks beautiful when you're walking down the aisle and during the ceremony, but after that there is no longer a need for it! JMO.

i'm keeping mine on all day long!!!! people look at me like i'm crazy now when i wear it - it's the only day i'll be able to wear it and not have peole stare!!!
but it's a fingertip - so it's pretty short and won't hide anything on my dress!!!
