Veil question...

I dont want to get my veil from where i bought my dress. Any suggestions of where i should go look for one? Do i risk it not matching? What did you girls do?

I had the exact same fear. I went to look at Barrons in Tri-County and then I chickened out and just bought the veil at Priscila

I think you should be ok if you go to Tri County or something similar. That's what I am going to do. I don't need much detail just a cathedral length veil with maybe some beading.

You should defintely find something so long as you are not picky. I can't see myself spending hundreds of dollars for a veil I'm wearing for not even an hour. The dress was expensive enough.

You will be fine. Just shop around early.

can you get a swatch of your dress color? that might help. I think it totally depends on how long your goign to wear it. If its just for the ceremony, then i might not spend the money.

I'm wearing mine for the ceremony, the pictures and the reception, so i didnt want to look back at the veil and feel like 'ugh'

My point exactly. At least with shoes you have a little more leway and more opportnities to wear them again as opposed to a veil.

I ordered a swatch of the dress but they were like: 'it might differ by 3 shades lighter or darker!' really? That helps!

I still think you will be ok. Just bring the swatch to someone who knows what they are doing. I'm sure this is just a tactic so the bridal shop can get your $400+ sale.

I had the same conversation except mine went:

White?
No diamond white.
So more like ivory?
No not like ivory at all.
So more like white?
Sort of, but softer.

This is when my mom said lets just get the matching veil
