Whenever you want! I bought my dress last July for my upcoming August wedding. I just got the veil in February.
Just be sure to have your veil before you start testing hairstyles, because you'll need to know how you are going to wear it.
Congrats on getting your dress!

Re: Veil Question
Whenever you want. I waited until my dress came in, then I tried on different headpieces with it. However, I found that the headpieces were way overpriced in the bridal shop. But it was nice to be able to see how it would look together.

Re: Veil Question
If you know what type of veil you want, buy it whenever you like.

Re: Veil Question
theres a few schools of thought on this issue...
i made the mistake of buying the headpiece and veil while I was in the bridal salon in a complete fog...
then I went for a hair trial and HATED my head piece...I ended up buying one off ebay and ditching the veil all together

Re: Veil Question
My cathedral veil was $120 and my fingertip was $95, but they gave it to me for free. I don't know how to make a veil, but you can buy tulle pretty inexpensively.
