So I just got a call from the bridal salon to let me know that my veil is in and I have to pay the balance left. My wedding is not until September 26th 2009. I have tons of questions ladies: 1- is it ok for a veil to be in the store for 10 months? 2- how can I approve if I don't have my dress to compare that it matches (silk edges) 3- I really have to pay the balance now?? I thought it was when i pick up the veil
any thoughts?

Re: Veil Ready?? is it too early??
Well, our original wedding date was 1/5/08 but because of illnesses in our families we pushed our wedding date back to 1/3/09. I have had my dress and my veil in my closet since 11/07 so over a year and its fine. It looks great, I kept it in a very dark closet, no light at all, and its in a dark colored bag as well.

Thanks. I was told when I ordered that the silk edges will be the same color as my silk gown. Now I'm told it 'complements' the color of my gown, but is not the same????

Do you have the dress or no? Why did you order your stuff so early? I'm getting married in August and will be ordering my stuff in December.... Anyway- I didnt think u'd have to pay for the balance until you picked it up.... why should you have to pay for it RIGHT NOW, if its going to sit in the store for months? I dont see the sense in that... and I simply wouldnt pay for it, until I was ready to pick it up...

do they have the sample of your dress in the store? can you try on the sample with the veil to make sure it matches?

Make sure you know how long they will hold it. Some places have limitations about how many days/months- afte that they may not be responsible for it.
Good luck!

Re: Veil Ready?? is it too early??
cutiegirlxo: I don't have the dress yet and the only reason why I ordered so early, was because the lady said it would come together with the dress.. She told me that they will hold it in the store until the dress gets there or if I want the dress to get there sooner
If I'm complaning to her about the veil being there 10 months before, why in the world would I want the dress to get there earlier???
And YES, she said I have to pay the balance even if they keep it in the store for 10 months...

Yikkkkes!!!!! I dont think I like the business your place is running.... thats not really fair that your veil would come in, but not your dress.... will your dress be coming in soon? NOOOOOO dont order your dress sooner!!!! Honestly, I wouldnt want my dress hanging in my closet for too many months (eventhough there are some girls who have done that). If you really want your dress from there and are stuck (by already paying deposits and whatnot) then I would just pay for the veil and tell them that you dont want the dress coming in crazy early like the veil. If you arent stuck with this place, I would tell them to take the veil and shove it lol
