Veils?

What length veil is everyone getting. I am going with one layer at cathedral since I have a really long train, but I am not sure about the rest of it. I like the look of fingertip but I am afraid it will get in the way.

Two tier, elbow length. Will use top tier for blusher. *NM*

Veils?

Although I like the cathedral length I have an elbow length veil. I'm petite and already have a long train attached to my gown. I went with the shorter veil because all that material just didn't work for my height.

Making Mine...

I'm making mine since I am crafty and can sew, plus the same exact veil I wanted and saw in Macy's and everywhere else was going for about $275.00!!! So I found the same tulle material and hair comb and put it all together!! It came out better then the stores. I even put (glued) tiny seed pearls to the outer edges of the veil just pass my waist line. My Train is Chapel length so it just covers it. It completes the look,just enough!

My sister in law and I will be making mine. How did you glue on the pearls? What kind of glue did you use? Thanks

Regular clear hot glue. That's it. But you have to put the glue on the bead, then apply the bead to the veil,otherwise the tulle might melt, depending on how hot it is. Experiment with a scrap piece first.

Thats what I was going to try. My Mother is insisting that we have to use toothpicks and elmers. That sounds too messy to me. Did you finish yours? I'll let you know how we do.

No not yet, but I made a sample one, so that I could practice and that came out pretty good. I found the right width tulle for my veil which 9 ft. wide the same as all the stores, I've tried veils on at. Beleive me I have this down to a science!!! Let me know how you make out!!

At The Fabric Mill In Carle Place. There is also one in Farmingdale. But make sure you look for the fine, (it has a very tiny weave to it) Tulle. The coarse, heavy, scratchy one is not it!!! I paid $1.79 A YD.!!! I needed 9 yards for a cathedral length, but got an extra yd. for boo-boo's.
