I want an elbow length veil that isn't too full and poofy--I am kind of small, and feel that it is just too much when there is a ton of veil around my face. Where do I look for the fullness amount, or where can I get them to specify how full to make it? So many of the ebay ones don't list the width...

I got 2 veils on EBay. They both were listed with the width. I got one from member name veilshop and the 2nd I can't remember.

My veil is cathedral length. I didn't want it puffy either so I had the woman who made it (Barron's Tri County) make a 72' width. It looks really pretty!

Great--so 72' doesn't look too poofy on top?

I have a 72' width that isn't poofy at all. Try veil shop where you can see what the different lengths and widths look like on a model.

No! I have the veil coming from the top of my head and it lays nicely over my hair. NOT puffy at all!!!! I'm small too, so I didn't want to be lost under my veil.

I agree. Mine is 72 & flat & from veilshop.com. Only one tier helps it not be poufy too.

Mine is a one tier 72' and it's not too poofy at all. Same problem- I'm small and didn't want to be overwhelmed. I felt that each layer added more poof! I got mine on Ebay too.

Did you go with one tier then? I can't decide! Which ebay vendor did you order from? Thanks!

Here is mine, except mine has a fine embroidered edge. It was on a comb, but I brought to Barrons & she changed it to loops so now it lays even flatter. I have a low headpice, so pouf wouldn't look right.

Mine was fingertip lenght and I didn't want poofy either. I had a very sheer piece of veil and then I had a removable blusher, so after my father lifted it at the church, he removed it so I didn't have two layers:

I'm going to have one made out of silk tulle. Same idea - I don't like the puffy veils. If your dress isn't stark white, this may be an option for you.

Where are you having that done? My dress is off white silk, so that would work!

Well, I actually went for 2 tier, and then cut out the bottom tier. When it's on my head, you don't see the cut part because it's covered by the other tier. I didn't know what I was doing when I ordered it, but 2 tiers for me was WAY too much.
I just looked, I got it on Ebay from bridalveilscustommade.
I had NO problems. It came quickly and neatly in a box. I would recommend her.

I wanted the same thing and ordered whats called a circular veil. Its very flat and lays straight in the back, but then you can have it over your face for the ceremony as well.

Re: Veils that aren't too full?
I believe a center gathered veil is alot less full than a regular veil and it also allows you to wear a blusher.
Or you can do a mantilla style veil which doesn't gather the fabric at all so their is no poof. It is attached to your hair with a hat pin or something like that.
