How do you attach / stick vellum to a scrapbook page?

Re: VELLUM

I use eyelets or brads or cover the adhesive with a button, charm or sticker.

I sometimes use vellum tape - it's a little visable but I can live with it.

I use eyelets as well. I think Hermafix glue dots might work (and you wouldn't see them) but just to be sure the page doesn't lift up over time I like to use eyelets

There is a special tape just for vellum and it works very well. I picked some up at Michaels. I took a great vellum class there (Westbury) and learned lots of tricks for working with it.

wife2b - Can you share the vellum tape secrets?

I use it and sometimes I can see the tape through the vellum.

Thanks.

I use spray adhesive.. I just use a light spray and haven't had any problems with it showing or looking gross- you just have to have a VERY light hand.

But, like the others, I mostly liek to use eyelets.

Hi Christine,
The trick to using the vellum tape is to not place it on the vellum, but on the paper you're adhering the vellum to. Rub the tape, then remove the backing and attach the vellum. It works great.
I learned a lot about vellum in the class at Michaels. I always liked it but didn't know what to do with it, lol.

that's probably what I was doing wrong - I put the tape on the vellum. I did the rubbing part and could see an improvement. THANKS!!

What else did you learn? I did a LO the other day where I used vellum as an overlay and torn to reveal a photo. Other then that - I just journal on it.

Re: VELLUM

In the class we went over embossing, we sewed an envelope, we used chalk, we did some tearing. I loved the class. I've taken a few of her classes since then and they've all been good!

I just got hooked on dry embossing!! I love it and think it looks awsome!! I just ordered a small light table thing so I can do it at home.

Were all these classes at Michaels? I took a series of classes at a local HS but never anywhere else. It turned into something more social which makes it even better!

Re: VELLUM

Yes, all the classes were at Michaels in Westbury. It turned out to be a lot of fun. The first class was full and we all loved the instructor so we all ended up taking a bunch of her classes and even ended up going out after one and one girl just had a crop but I couldn't make it. It was a great group. If you want to take one of her classes sign up early because they sell out very fast. She's great, very funny and her pages are amazing.
