Vellum Paper Question

I am in the midst of making my memorial candle... i printed out everyone's name on vellum paper and now I can't get it to stick to the candle. (To affix the ribbons I used a hot glue gun and then I pushed a pin in to keep it there).... don't want to stick pins in the vellum paper because they will be in the front. (The pins in the ribbons are at the back of the candle.)

Help please!!

i had the same problem with my unity candle. i used something like crazy glue. i forgot the name of it but the package said it is good for 'oily' surfaces. wax is a little wierd and doesn't really allow things to stick.

there is a picture of my memorial candle in my 'pro pics' album. if that is what you're looking for, i just used a glue stick to glue the velum to itself. i made a 'tube' then i put the ribbon along the top and bottom edge of the vellum and did the same. glued the ribbon to itself.

take a look at a water bottle, the lable is always longer than the bottle is wide, and it's glued to itself.

Re: Vellum Paper Question

I just made my memory candles today. I bought Vellum tape. It worked like a charm. It was only 4 bucks too

spray adhesive might work too, if you spray it on the whole sheet before wrapping it around the candle. my brothers use it to do graphic design work--that stuff is great!!

be careful doing that because spray adhesive is flamable. I know the flame doesn't touch the outside but if hot enough wax drips down the side, that can be a problem.

I saw (somewhere) sheets of adhesive vellum - the whole sheet is sticky.....I think it was sold with scrapbooking stuff....maybe that would work
