velvet studios

I met with bob today from velvet studios!!! It was great!!! I think were gonna go with them. We have a few more to look at but there work is great!!!

just a question for all you velvet girls...I love what I have seen of their work, however, I just wonder, are you worried about the fact that they use film and not digital???

He customized a package for us. We aren't having a DJ we are having a band, Code Bleu!!!!

I loved the fact that he isn't using digital. He uses film and runs it through a machine to make any image digital later on. He said he does this because there are too many case where files have become corrupted and you end up losing pictures. I feel safer knowing that i will be getting ALL my pictures.

yeah he did the same with us, we told him our budget & he cusomized a package that we liked w/ the right size photos we wanted.

Yeah and he puts them all on a disc for you. The film is so much better, I would be so upset if all my pics for that day were lost. And he said that he keeps a copy of the disc after everything is given to me and if for some reason I lose my book he can make a replica.

I am going to try and meet with them this week. But we have Cassarino, Franklin sq, 12th night and pro line that I want to see. So hopefully this week i can get to them all. and then make my decision. But I really like Velvet. I think I am just going to the others to please my mom. lol

Velvet is great - I'm using them as well. Just wanted to point out that you don't necessarily get all of your pictures on CD! Make sure you check on that before you sign your contract. I am doing a traditional album and that does not come with CDs on disc. If you choose a digital album I'm not sure if they put all of the pictures on disc - I think perhaps just those that you are using in your album. Just wanted to mention this so you make sure you specify in your package/contract what it is that you want. Bob worked with me and I'm now getting all of my pics on disc, because that is what I cared most about so that I can share my picutres with family and friends electronically.

Also, for those concerned about film - my friend used Patken and they did a mix of film and digital and she ended up picking mostly film pictures to use in her album!

Well in the quote is says all pics on cd. So I guess When we do the contract I will make sure it's written in there. Thanks!!! I really love there work.
