So I tried calling a vendor this morning (it must have been her cell phone) and she didn't answer. I didn't leave a message. ANyway she called me back at work and I specifically told her more than once my name is Vita (veeta) and at the end of the call she calls me Vita (as in vita-min) I hate that!!!

yeah i get that a lot too...its really annoying..i mean how hard is it to pronounce Kamille (KA-MEAL)...instead i get ka-melly, camel, and even have it pronounced like that tea chamomile (or however you spell it)..so yeah i definitely feel your pain

I think when I am on the phone when I say my name it sounds like 'Bethany' b/c people always say I pronounce my name like that

It's ok I've gotten it all my life. Even from teachers. My full name is VitaMarie and I had one teacher that called me vita (as in vita-min) mary. not even close lady!!! I can laugh at myself so don't feel bad for laughing.

oh i am right there with you My name is Zarra pronounced Zar-rah, but does anyone ever get it right nope When i get phone calls from vendors and other companies, I get all kinds of different names except mine Whenever i call to get takeout I use my FHs name because its easier than having to say it 4 times and then spell and then who knows what they get on top of all of that everyone who meets me thinks its funny to say 'oh Zarra like Zorro haha' Yea, it ain't funny I completely understand where you are coming and am right there with your frustration

I have the opposite problem. They pronounce my name correctly, Autumn, they just don't know how to spell it. My typical response is 'you know, like the season, Autumn.' It's kind of sad when they still don't get it!
