I was on another wedding forum and one of the brides on there was talking about how she saved so much money paying cash to a lot of her vendors. She was from the mid-west, so I'm wondering if vendors around here offer things like this. Have any of you ladies had encounters with vendors willing to give discounts (percentage off, tax-free, etc) if you paid cash?
Yes this is true for the most part. My friend paid cash for her photography/video with JoVon and she got a bit of a discount. I tried it with Ovation (when we went to put a deposit on the photo booth) and they said they heard of it but they don't do that.
I did it with my hall and got my price overall lowered as well as no tax. However I do know that they no longer do it I booked in 2012 but many place will give you a discount :)
yea we got some $$ off of our florist, photog, and limo for paying cash
I did it with my videographer, florist, and dj. The highest discount I was offered was $300 off and the videographer threw in an extra hr of shooting for free. Some vendors I've seen offered to forgo sales tax.
my hall told me no, but I think that's partly bc I'm going with an all inclusive venue so I'm saving so much with that.... haven't really asked other vendors if I paid cash for extra would they waive tax.
Always negotiate! That's what we learned. And also offering to pay in cash could help cut some costs.
One of our vendors told us if we paid cash, they could give us an 8.675% discount (read between the lines). But that was only because we asked.
Definitely ask! My hall wouldn't do it, but the photographer and the limo did!
I was able to save tax on some of my vendors. Not westbury manor though.
Many places I felt said if we paid cash they either wouldn't charge us tax or give us a discount. It doesn't hurt to ask!
I'm hoping florist does that Wednesday...... my dad has all his cash ready lol.
We got an amazing deal on a photo booth through our DJ for paying in cash and also a great deal on our limos.
My venue doesn't but my photographer and DJ took the tax off for paying cash. I know lots of vendors will at least do that if you pay cash or check to cash
Excellent! Thanks for all the responses! it ends up being perfect to be able to pay cash for a lot of stuff, especially if we can save some $$ that way.
I wish I asked about this when booking my vendors!
Always ask! I was able to save $ on our DJ and Florist for paying cash.
