Vendor Help!!!

What is the name of the DJ at your friend's wedding?

The Marriott is beautiful and has been rated fairly highly by Conde Nast. The Sonestra is also supposed to be nice too.

While I have heard some stories that vendors refund a deposit if able to rebook the date, I have to agree that the contract is for their protection, and also for our protection.

One of the most stressing things about planning the wedding is that pause when a vendor you have fallen in love with checks to see if the date is open. Let's face it, that's why we're all stuck planning a year in advance, so we get who we want. You're booking the dj back in August most certainly has prevented someone along the past two months from booking them for their date. How sad for them, and now you want to change. You're entitled to that, and I'm sure the dj will just be happy to rebook. But think about the other brides out there who may have had to settle elsewhere because you prematurely booked. The non-refundable deposit serves as a cancelation deterent for the protection of other potential customers as well as the vendor.

Again, you are entitled to change your mind and you should absolutely get the dj you want, but a contract is a contract. The best you can do is hope for the best, but expect the worst.

Danielle,
i feel really sorry for the situation you're in, but i do have one question for you, what is the second dj doing for you besides being $300 cheaper? is there something about the other dj, maybe something different, or is it just the music, because face it, music is music, no matter who plays it. The dj i really like is In the Mix and they DO things besides put in a cd and give out favors. if you are just gonna change for the $$$ then you should just stay where you are, but if you want to do something different, really do your homework this time and go with someone who'se giving you something more than just music and the same old stuff.
