Vendor meals...prices??

Vendor meals...prices??

hi ladies,

is anyone paying full price for their vendors?? i'm helping a friend & their hall told them that if they don't meet the minimum--they need to pay full price for vendors? i don't think this makes any sense being that they won't be eating every meal...

any advice???

If they don't meet their minimum the reception hall will count the vendors toward the minimum and they will pay full price for them. Hey if they have to pay the minimum anyway at least you save on the vendor meal price on top of that - it's actually not a big deal at all, and works out better for your friend.

Ex: I have to guarantee 180. So I have to pay for 180 people whether or not 180 guests show up. In addition, Vendors are $35 each. So if I save that $35 per vendor because I didn't meet the minumum then I'll be ahead

Does that make sense?

if we meet our minimum, the vendor meals are $35 each -- Is the minimum requirement an issue for them?

Oops -- just edited to reread your original post -- I did encounter that when going to halls.

I don't know what she isn't understanding. Say she guarantees 100--whether or not that includes vendors, she must pay for 100 guests, full price. Say they say vendors are normally 1/2 price--well, if she doesn't have the 100 guaranteed, then they will be part of that 100, paid at the full amount. When she signed her contract it probably had an amount she guaranteed to pay--the guarantee # times the amount per head. The vendors will be included as part of this if she doesn't meet her minimum. It's actually nice that they allow her to do that to meet the minimum--either way, she pays full price for her guaranteed number of guests.

Ooooohh! You struck a cord with me.....we're paying full price!! Unless it's a house vendor (which ours are not) then it's 1/2 price. This is such a sore topic for me....but I didn't fight it when we signed the contract so now we're stuck paying full price.

OK, stop thinking about it as they are eating every meal. That doesn't matter when it comes to headcounts.

If she has to guarantee 100 people, she has to pay for 100 people NO MATTER WHAT. Even if 3 people show up she has to pay for 100 people, right? That's what a guarantee is.

What the reception hall did, was say, if you do not get to 100 people, you can use your vendors to meet the 100 people minimum and you do not have to pay extra vendor fees for them. They actually did her a favor and let it be so that she can save $$$ if she doesn't meet the minnimum.

Our house vendors are free, other vendors are 1/2 price, but if we don't make our minimum then they will be full price, but included in our minimum.

I have to pay $25. for (house) vendor meals.

If you have a big problem with paying for meals that are not going to be eatten, speak with your vendor about having those meals prepared for you to take home. Technically you are paying for them, so you should be able to have them wrap them for you.

Im NEVER gonna hit my minimum so my vendors are tossed into the headcount. So what I pay for the hall, includes the prices of all means, including the vendors.

Good thing cause it's one less thing to worry about.

if we used house vendors, they are free (but we're not ) otherwise they are half the price, UNLESS we dont meet our min. then its full
