I have a question about the meal of my hairdresser. She is coming on Friday night and staying (with her husband) at the Harrison House where our wedding will be held on Sat. morning. They are both going to do my hair and my bridesmaids hair and then stay for the wedding. She is not a close personal friend, although we are quite friendly and a personal friendship is developing. I'm wondering if she sits at a table can her meal be considered a vendor meal (if so, I would save $100 each on her meal and her husband's meal). What do you think?
Also, How do I tip. My florist, photographer, D.J., hair stylist and make up person are all the owners of their businesses, or independent. The only people who are not are the string trio. Who should we tip and how much?
Thank you Thank you for your help!

Re: Vendor Meal/Tipping Question
As far as I know, owners of their own businesses don't have to be tipped. It's a nice gesture if you feel they go above and beyond, but not required as they'd already be making an adequate profit.
If your hairdresser sits at a table, she'd be charged as a guest, even if she's a vendor.

Re: Vendor Meal/Tipping Question
I am not sure if you would get a break on your hairdresser as a vendor. That you would have to ask at the reception place. I think you can tip the florist $20-$40 photographer-$100 dj-$100 hairstylist-$20-$50 (I didn't tip mine because I paid a lot of money so she definately made out on the deal) makeup person-$20 per person Those are my estimates on what I feel is decent.
