Vendor Overkill

Note: This isn't regarding any LIW Vendor

FH and I went to check out a few DJ's in the Westchester area at the end of February/beginning of March. One of the companies DJ'ed my friend's wedding and they were good but FH wasn't sold on them because he felt they were like Used Car Salesmen. Ever since we met with them, I've received letters, emails, phone calls oh and now... A TEXT MESSAGE FOLLOWING UP

'Hi. It's Richie from _______. Did you enjoy the presentation? Any Questions? Thanks. Richie (phone number)'

I hate that!! I had one vendor do that to me. I had to tell them to stop and that I wasn't planning on using their services for the phone calls to stop.

omg a photog did that to us - literally texted me like 20 times until i caved and went to meet w/ him and he was a total creeper, which i should have expected!!!!!!

that is the worst. i had one photographer leave the same message on my voicemail 4 times in the span of 2 days. if you can't even keep track of who you are calling that just shows me the type of service i'll be getting. grrrr.

OMGG one day i had this woman call me 3xs in a row. Not even realizing she had JUST hungup with me.

The hall gave out my # and there acting like telemarkerts calling everydayyy . If we want you will call we have the infoooo

'may i ask who you booked with? what do you think was the deciding factor?'

wowwwww that is annoying!! Definitely would turn me off! Seems like they are begging for business.

Thankfully i havent had many vendors like that yet....but the Census has been calling me DAILY about some college graduate survery....and i'm sorry, i've been working 8p-8a for the past two weeks and i like to come home and SLEEP not chat on the phone for 30 min......

OMggg I HATE that!!!!! I get phone calls ALLL the time and from this one Dj/Band and they are SOOO annoying. It got to the point I had to lie and told them we booked our band when at that time we didnt yet.... I hate to be that person but they sure brought it out in me!!

Its EXTREMELY annoying.. I can appreciate a vendor who is a 'go - getter' but 1 e-mail/text/phone call is plenty, If I don't respond its probably because im not interested, no need to send 7,000 follow ups, all you're doing is making me NOT want to use you!

OMG! Hate HATE Hate that!!!!! We went to a showcase in Jan at our hall and every since every day my mailbox is filled with up to 40 emails a day for dj's, limos, photographers, florists everything!! and all day with phone calls and we actually make a bet every time we go to check our mail about how many wedding vendors will be in the mail.

After that showcase we purposely didn't look into anything just b/c we got so annoyed at all of them

I experienced the phonecalls from vendors the first week FH and I booked our hall. Thank God we haven't gotten those annoying calls anymore. I made sure not to put my phone number anywhere when I went to JT showcase b/c I didn't want to be bombarded with phonecalls.

I responded and said 'I'd rather not say who we booked with and the reason why we didn't book you is because you were extremely pushy with your follow up calls, emails and text messaging.'

I think they got the point after that.

Hahaha!!! Good one, I'm glad you let them know. I understand that they want to get the business but they have to learn the follow up skills and not be pushy!
