Vendor Rant

Vendor Rant

My FMIL ordered her dress from a popular bridal shop in Massapequa. Now, she's not heavy by any means (see pic of me entering my bridal shower in my album). But her stomach is a little swollen because her uterus is swollen right now (she has to have a histerectamy after the wedding). They measure her, and tell her they have to order a size 20 dress because of her stomach. My own dress is a 20 or 22 so I knew hers couldn't be the same size. Her street size is maybe a 10 or 12 at most. When she tells me this, I asked her about her alterations because I've heard of shops ordering dresses too big so they can get you on alterations. I totally don't remember what she said about the cost but she said the girl explained to her why she needed that size and it made sense and yada yada. Well, she goes the other day for her first fitting and the seamstress doesn't understand why they sized her that way because the dress is entirely too big. And now her alterations are costing her $100. It's so ridiculous. This same store quoted me $600 for my alterations when I brought my dress there because I ddidn't buy it from there. And they made us wait an hour and a half before I was actually fitted, even though I had an appointment. I've heard good things about the place, but wanted to let everyone know about my experience with them as well.

I'm pretty sure I know what place you are talking about. If it's who I think it is they are the WORST!!! They can't measure for their lives!!!!! They ordered half the bridal party I was in dresses that were too small for them!!! How does that happen to 4 out of 9 girls!!

I think I know what store you are talking about. I have heard really horrible things about them. I'm not even thinking about going there at all!

I am with you girls- we know who you are talking about. I had a horrible experience there a few years ago and I would never recommend going there. With all the bad experiences that people have there, how do they stay in business?

Yup me too I had an appointment set for three weeks for a second fitting on a bridesmaid dress ..they made me wait an hour and a half while they altered my dress!! Hello you had three weeks to do this why are you doing it now while Ive been waiting almost 2 hours!! Also the rolling of the eyes and attitudes by certain workers there !

I know...i had a terrible experience with them too...i actually walked out of the store bc they were so rude to me. then I found out FMIL ordered her dress there- I hope there's not a problem, although if there is, I have no problem becoming a bridezilla
