Vendor Rant!!!

Vendor Rant!!!

I'm really kinda pissed I gotta admit it.

I've heard of girls having tastings at Chateau Briand but our BM has been avoiding the subject since we signed the contract.

Now that the time has come to finalize our menu he said that they don't do tastings.... HUH?

I know for a fact that they do!!! Are they doing this to save money?? If so what else are they doing to save money?? I'm scared now... really scared!!!

I've personally never eaten here and how do I know what I want on my menu? Why are they hiding their food from us??

Any other Chateau Briand girls been told that they don't allow tastings?

Im not a Chateau Briand bride, but I have been to numerous weddings there. The food was always delicious. FH had something different every wedding we went to there and loved the food. You dont have anything to worry about

I would be mad also Tell him/her that you know other girls who have had tastings there and that you want to speak with the owner/manager (whoever your BM's superior is) about when you can have one before choosing the final menu. Tell the BM that not having a tasting is not an option since you weren't told that there wouldn't be one!

Thanks girls. You keep me sane I swear! and FH thanks you too lol.

I guess this is a common thing for Chateau Briand to say to get away with things... I guess they don't want a tip.

Oh I can't wait to write my review

I've not been as mad about anything else up to this point - let's hope this is all that happens to make me this pissed off

Not *always*...a lot of times if the RH also has a restaurant, they do not offer tastings, but rather say go to dinner at their restaurant, or a showcase, as is the case with mine. We weasled one anyways, but only because it was specific Greek dishes that are obviously not served in the Italian restaurant lol.

But with CB, they don't have a restaurant, right? So they *should* do a tasting...but come to think of it, my sister was married there about 2 years ago, and I do not believe she had a tasting either.

yeah - they don't have a restaurant.... and I found out from other girls that they've had tastings there and a lot of them with no problems at all....

I'm telling you... don't make a red head mad

Re: Vendor Rant!!!

I would def. argue this one with them... they should give you a tasting so you know what to pick for your menu.

I had a few RH's offer us tastings when we were looking around and we werent even booked with them like you are!

Re: Vendor Rant!!!

I understand why you would be upset but not all halls do tasings. My hall doesn't either (I believe they are owned by the same ppl). I would prefer to go to a tasting before I picked the menu, but it is what it is...we are just going to pick what we like with the help of the BM recommendations.

2010 bride crashing here.

i read so many mixed reviews about cb doing and not doing tastings.

we had them put in the contract that we had to have a tasting and if we did not care for the food they would refund us our deposit.

we had to go on a day when they had some events going on. we had to eat at one of the offices. it worked out great because we were allowed to bring two guest. we felt like we were at a resturant because we had our own server. we stayed for about 3hours. we ended up hanging out in the new outdoor area for addtional 30mins with the guy who was serving us.

oh and the food was great!!!!!!!

in the end you can get a tasting!!!
fight for it!!!!!!!!

I think that's ridiculous! I thought it was customary. Also, Danfords has a restaurant and we still had a tasting and then kind of an impromptu tasting when we were walking around one day and asked a question about something on the menu.

Lastly, we had two places tell us that if we left a deposit and didn't like the food after the tasting that we could have our money back...tastings are very important.

My uncle's wedding was at CB and no one had anything negative to say other than that the groom was late! (Leave it to my family) but I think you're entitled to one.

Thank you!!! We are! I also solicited the help of my Coordinator.... I'm not going down without a fight and I'm not going to sit here and be quiet about it either. This vendor is at the bottom of my list so far

Re: Vendor Rant!!!

I got married there on June 20th! The food was absolutely amazing you have NOTHING to worry about with the food!

My only complaint about CB was that I was forced to have 2 bridal attendants and they did nothing. They disappeared for 1/2 the night to serve other tables and the MD kept telling me to stop drinking mean while I had 2 drinks at the end of the night. Otherwise everything else was amazing! If you have any questions FM me

Thank you!!!

All I know is that I'm not going to forget this very easily - anybody who knows me well knows I don't let go of things very easily lol.

We FINALLY got our tasting... that they don't do btw... I'm so happy - thank you girls for helping me by providing me with amo. I almost believed they didn't do tastings.

Bottom line is don't listen to your vendors if it sounds fishy... it is!

I'm so happy to have found this site and you girls to help out. This is just another one of those occasions.

Re: Vendor Rant!!!

Who is your BM? I deal with Sue and she is soooo accommodating! Try calling when you know your BM isn't there and see if you can speak to her, she works nights, until 10pm or 11pm, I forget what days but if you want, you can FM me to remind me to look it up. Sue is one of the many reasons we booked there, she's awesome!

Our hall does not do tastings- They gave us a gift certificate to their restaurant but many of the items on our menu are not offered.
