Vendor RANT!!!! Really long sorry!!
I am soooo upset right now. Back in June I had posted on the vendor boards and gotten a response from a vendor but the prices were too high. In August I got another FM from the vendor and I mentioned my budget. I was shocked at the great price he gave me - his work is wonderful - and was sooo excited. I had some family problems for a while and so was out of touch for a couple of weeks. Then I emailed him back to set up an appointment and for the last couple of weeks we´ve been going back and forth trying to set up a good time to meet. We basically knew we wanted him but (thank god) i was also calling other vendors as back up. I read a email from him today confirming the time and saying that he doesn´t know if he sent me the price list and that its attached. The cheapest package was more than 3 times what I was quoted!!! I replied that while the packages were all great I was just looking for the basics and copied the info from the FM where he put the prices. He then replies that things have changed and that it is now $300 more!! That may not seem like a lot but that is half my dress budget (including alterations) right there!! We had already realized that we wanted some editing and so were trying to find a way to gather a little more money but with the new price it´s impossible. Thats the price of just raw footage!!
I´m so upset. Teh whole time I knew that it was a great price and almost too good to be true b.c I heard of what they normally charge but I wish he had been honest!! When I ignored the first FM and then replied to the 2nd one with my low budget he should´ve been honest and said he had nothing for me. He got me all excited and worked up. I was thrilled that I was going to be working with them!! I´ve had such a crappy day too so this is the last thing I need today. I was already upset because of the tight budget and how its affecting our 'honeymoon'.
Ok, I will stop whinning. I know there are people a lot worse off than me. Hey! my parents never even had a wedding!! I should be greatful for what I do have. Sometimes I wanna just win the lottery or something. but I guess in order to do that I should start playing it!!![]()
