Yesterday FH and I had our engagement photos taken at the Bronx Zoo where we got engaged and it was wonderful. We met our photographer Fil for the first time, and our videographer Gil was actually helping since Fil had knee surgery in February. They were so much fun and helped us feel comfortable. Fil was such a trooper despite his bad knee, he trekked all around the zoo with us. It was great to get a sense of how it'll be on our wedding day since they'll both be with us then too. They posted some of our pictures last night and Wow! I couldn't be happier... they're beautiful. I'm so excited for them to shoot the wedding and this just reaffirms my decision to go with them, I got a great price and didn't at all sacrifice quality. For anyone looking for a great photographer definitely look into Fade to Black.

ETA: Kelly from Glam Me Up did my makeup and she was also awesome. She was so nice and did a great job of giving me a soft natural look just like I wanted. That was my trial but I'm definitely gonna hire her for the wedding, loved her and good prices.

Thanks ladies! So excited, plus now I get to start thinking about Save The Date's!
Lori: Gil was saying that Fil did a wedding the day after like a major procedure or being really sick (my memory is failing me right now!) so we can rest easy knowing that a cold or something is not gonna stop him from being our photographer on our big days!
Sandr325: I hear Jodi's great, I feel like I see more about her than I do about Fil so I was a little nervous but Lori reassured me he was great and Fil really came through. They were actually making jokes about Jodi while they were shooting, it was fun to see how the all goof on each other, made me feel more comfortable.
LadyReeRee: Thank you! I was so happy we were able to do it there. FH and I love the Bronx Zoo and we really don't have any pics from getting engaged there so this was great plus I liked that it was a little different.
Lisa And Steven & Brunettelizzie29: Gil is awesome to talk to and really works to get you what you want, so it's definitely worth making the appointment to check them out. I feel like I definitely saw some vendors that it was brutal to sit there and chat with but Gil was so pleasant that even if I hadn't decided to go with them, I wouldn't have felt like I wasted my time.

That's good to know!! I'm starting to make appointments with different photo/video professionals..and knowing someone has been to them its a piece of mind..thank you!! Will post once I go to them

Love your pictures! They came out great! I love how you took your e pics at the same place where you got engaged. We did the same thing. FH proposed in Battery Park and we couldn't think of a better place to take our e pics then there!

Thanks ladies! Its wonderful to be able to come here and share stuff like this. I'm obsessed and have looked at the pics like a million times. We love the zoo and I'm so happy it ended up being so easy to take the pics there, didn't have to jump through hoops or pay a lot. The best part though is some of the photos are from right in the spot where he proposed so it's nice that they're so meaningful.
Katielynn: I'm not gonna lie, it made both me and FH laugh when we found out it was going to be Fil & Gil too! That's so nice your taking your pics in Montauk where you got engaged, that'll be beautiful.
