Vendor RAVE: Grooms Cake
FH and I are extremelyyyy excited about our grooms cake. We went for a tasting today at Sweet Melissa's Patisserie and met with the woman who is going to make our grooms cake. Sweet Melissa's just started doing grooms cakes I guess when they hired this baker so shes basically building up her portfolio, she did an amazing Ipod cake so we've seen her work.
Anyway, we tasted two flavors. I chose red velvet filled with chocolate gaunache (sp?) and topped with chocolate mousse icing and FH chose carrot filled with fresh fruit and custard topped with buttercream. Omgggggggg the cakes were AMAZINGLY delicious. FH chose to have the carrot cake. The baker we're working with was so excited to make this cake and she said shes gonna make sure she does all the little details. She even asked for us to drop off the Xbox remote so she gets everything down perfect. It was so great to talk to a vendor who was very excited about their job.
Best part is we're getting it for an amaaaaaazing price! I feel like we're practically stealing the cake lol. FH said if she does a good job he'll throw in some extra $ for her.
