I just got off the phone with Rita who is in charge of blocking rooms at the Holiday Inn in Riverhead and I have nothing but great things to say about her. She had called me weeks ago to let me know they were lowering my rate and with this last phone call lowered them again. I guess it pays to be getting married in the slow season. I had worried about the customer service at this hotel when trying to get a hold of them over the summer, but now that I think about it, the summer time is their craziest, busiest time so it is not surprising they would have trouble getting back to you right away. Just to make it clear I am not excusing them of not calling back but I do understand where it would be difficult.
I just thought you ladies should know about a place with good customer service!

we have rooms there too and also getting married at Giorgio's. I hope they will lower our rates when it gets closer, bc right now they are $$!

I'm so jealous girls- I tried to get that hotel PLUS every other hotel in that area for my wedding weekend but its the weekend of the US Open and EVERY hotel is booked- its so frustrating- i finally got one in Stony Brook- but its so ridiculous that its that far away from East Wind- i just keep calling back to check for cancellations- and the ladies at Holiday Inn Express East End have been nothing but super nice to help me out.

Thats awesome that your rates were lowered. I had to bargain with her for my rates b/c the initial price she gave me was ridiculous. I would feel bad asking my guests to pay so much to stay out on the east end. Plus I'm blocking my rooms for prime wine tasting season. Crazyness!
