Vendor Rave/Gush - RH - The Inn at New Hyde Park
So I have to give a little background to tell you how much I LOVE this place. You can skip down to the row of smiley faces if you want to skip the background.
We had booked out wedding for Dec 2006 and had to postpone. Our original hall (NOT the Inn) still had part of the deposits we'd paid and said we could apply it to a future date. We called them in Dec 2009 to book a date. We told them the date we wanted, and they said it's ours no problem, since they already have the money, just come in and sign a new contract. Fast forward to the day we're supposed to sign the new contract. We call to say we're going to be an hour late and is it ok to come in anyway. They say ok, ':What is your date?' and we tell them and they tell us 'We sold it yesterday to someone else!' it was a horrible experience. We were so angry since they had our money since 2004 and we were assured by several people that the date was hours.
MAJOR credit goes to my sister for making me go out to look at new halls THAT day. She had suggested the Inn, but I was resistant because I knew it was more then we planned to spend. Originally we called and they had no appointments available. We looked at some other places. I called a few minutes before 9pm (when they were closing) and said 'I'm in the area, can I please just come in to see what dates were available?' Well I think the staff thought I was a little crazy, but Frank, the owner himself agreed to meet with us. As soon as I walked into the lobby I said 'this is the place' It was just so beautiful! Frank did meet with us and not only did he tell us about dates but he gave us the entire tour and sat with us for over an hour. After the horrible experience we had, we just felt so good about the way he treated us. My sister was pushing me to book on the spot, especially since we were getting SO much included. But Frank assured me he'd give us a week to think about it. We came back and booked.
Every experience at the Inn has been fantastic. Every time I am there for a payment or a bridal showcase, I'm greeted with a smile, a big hug and kiss, and regards for my family. My tasting was incredible. A previous bride had flowers that were my colors and Frank gave them to me to take home. The food was soooo good, and the staff is amazing.
Over the weekend we went in to make our last downpayment (before the big one). Frank stayed late to meet with us personally. I had emailed him some ideas and he had offered me a drink over email. So he remembered that and set us up at the bar. He also had them send out some appetizers for us, and we had such a nice relaxing time at the bar, dreaming of our wedding.
The Inn is definitely not an in expensive place to have your wedding, but I seriously feel like the service, the food, and the beauty of the place make it worth every penny. When we thanked Frank for being so kind to us he said 'You're my bride and groom, you're family now.' You can tell he takes great pride in everything that he does.
I've heard fantastic things about the BMs there, such as KT and Janine, that no matter who you work with, you'll get a great level of service.
I am just SO SO impressed by them. I feel so happy about this decision, I had to rave about it!![]()
