Vendor Review Question?

If you were seriously considering using a vendor and then read a negative review, would you not use them?

I would most likely still use them. Unless the review said that they never showed up.
Everyone interprets things differently, something could be a catastrophe to one person and make no difference to someone else.

depends.... say the vendor is a florist....

If the negative review says 'they're impossible to contact' or 'they set-up everything late, causing the entire event to be delayed', I'd avoid them.

If the review said something more ambiguous like 'the peonies weren't pink enough' or 'my bo-k was a bit smaller than I envisioned', I'd probably use them anyway.....

any limo review stating the car they reserved didn't show up, showed up late, or got lost, I'd avoid like the plague!

If he missed a bunch of shots & she gave him a list of 'must take' shots, I would probably still consider it, depending on whether she was happy overall with the quality of the pics. I understand photographers taking a while to get back to you (a few days or a week, but no longer) or taking a while for you to get your final album, etc. But some photographers (like my FSIL's) did all of the above (except multiply by 10!!!) and it took him TWO YEARS to finish her thank you photos!!!! That is inexcusable and I would definitely 'avoid him like the plague'. Try & do another search on him & see what other brides say


Sorry, I thought you wrote it took a while for him to get back to her (on the phone). But it takes a LONG time to get albums back b/c of the work that goes into it. I would still consider using them.

yeah, I agree.... I'd probably consider them... maybe pay a bit extra for an assistant....

everyone complains about the pics coming back late.... we're nervous brides who are anxious to get our albums! (unless we're talking about over 6 months....)

I agree, is this the only negative thing you have heard? If everything else is positive and you feel comfortable with them I would book. When booking vendors do your research and go with your gut feeling about a situation.

It woudl honestly depend on the reason and the person's review. I know of a bride who posted a neg review of a popular DJ that many other brides were using--one of the other brides called the DJ up to see what happened.

Basically, there are 2 sides to every story.
