I booked with vendors that only had reviews. Actually, most of mine are from LIW. I know that yours is in NJ, so you prob couldn't use LI based vendors. To be honest, it would worry me..but that doesn't necessarily mean they will be bad.
I'm sorry - that is frustrating. I am having a similiar issue with my photographer. He has a website but mostly the reviews are about the shots he took for fashion and models. I liked the albums he showed me and he worked well with us during our engagement shots -but I would still like to hear what other BRIDES think of him. I totally understand your frustration, but I juts have to trust my instincts and stop worrying!
I booked with a photographer that has very few reviews but we really like his personality and think he had great work. I think its okay as long as you think its a reputable business...maybe check BBB just in case?
i wouldn't worry - i have seen very few reviews on my photog. i really don't think it makes a big difference. my fbil and fsil used our photog and i've seen his work firsthand. yet i can barely find anything on him. do NOT worry!!! be confident in your decision!

honestly not important, yes it would be nice and helpful...but my florist only have one review and he was amazing the day of.
it would worry me a little, but it wouldn't stop me from actually booking the person. however, i would ask the vendor why there aren't reviews about them and i'd also ask if they could possibly give me someone's name who has used them in the past.
