I am really dissapointed with my catering hall. I had several things not happen that were supposed to happen on my wedding date. Even though my wedding was very nice...these were things that were promised to me and did not happen. I was told that the manager would get back to me two weeks ago and never did. I have left him messages as well.
What to do?? I know my wedding is over and done with. However I have been in coversation with them since November...I am being passed to someone else and now it is January and noone has addressed my concerns............
UGH!

I'm sorry that you have to go through this. Have you tried putting everything in writing.

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
Can you go there in person and try to talk to the manager? Sorry this happened and sorry they're not returning your calls. Good Luck!

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
I would go there in person. I know when my brother got married (Huntington Townhouse), and their air conditioned crapped out, my parents got back about $1,000. I don't know what your situation and what went wrong is but I would try to go back there in person and see if they can give you some money back.

To be honest, I don't know what else you can do that you haven't done already.
I think it's best now to help out other brides by sharing your experience (factual) and hopefully it will prevent other brides in going through the same thing.

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
Thanks girls. What I would really like at this point is some respect and courtesy through a returned call...wich has not happened.
As happy as i was with them,,,I still feel that the things that did not happen need to be addressed...especially since one of them was on my contract...and the other was confirmed the day before.
I will certainly keep you posted and tell you how it goes.

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
By factual I think she meant that just put what actually happened/didn't happen and not your emotions regarding the issue - sometimes emotional posts can get pulled - or so I've heard.

Exactly what I meant.
ie:
I hate this place b/c xyz - will get pulled
vs.
I would not recm'd this b/c of xyz - factual

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
You have to write them a detailed letter. It's the only way complaints get taken seriously.
It's time consuming, but you can end the letter with a line like 'Please respond by ____. I look forward to hearing from you.' That way they know you want a call back.
GOOD LUCK

Oh and I would recommend you do a letter before a pop-in. It's more effective because: a) you won't get emotional; b) you can get your points across clearly; & c) you can outline how to want the situation settled (i.e. with a refund) without any input or coercion from the vendor. Then if you still want to speak with them in person, you can ask for a meeting in the letter.
FM if you want my help with this. I'm no lawyer but I did work in a law office for 3+years. Maybe I can help you.

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
Thanks girls...The bottom line is i was supposed to have A, B, and C and on my wedding day it did not happen.
I intend on being fair and they were to me in other areas.

What did you want them to do?
Did they promise you something and did not comply?

Sorry girl! But I agree with everyone, i was write a scathing letter or go there in person.
If it were me, I would go there in person, they can't not respond if you are standing there!

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
do NOT forget to send the letter registered mail, return requested..... and make a copy of it.
Sometimes just seeing a paper trail being created will get a response, plus if you even need to go further you will be happy you have a paper trail

Great advice - also they won't be able to say they didn't get it.

Re: Vendor VENT!!!
I had a similar situation. I was promised something in my contract and didn't receive it. I had to call them over and over to even get a call back. After talking with the general manager and writing a letter, I was able to get back $1,500. But it took LOTS of phone calls and a few months. I got to the point where I just wanted to let it go but DH told me not too and he helped me make some of the calls. Looking back I'm glad I didn't give up. Only other advice I can give you is to report them to the BBB if they don't return your calls or respond to any letters you may send them.
