VENDOR VENT: Seamstress/ Alterations

I took my dress to a certain recommended dress place in Islip because I needed someone confident that they could do the job. I owned a dress but decided to make design changes to the dress and I was given a reasonable price at a certain A's.

While the work so far has been great, dealing with the owner has been absolutely terrible. This woman is unbelievably rude each time I call with a question, and even when I have been in the store, she carries on angry and frantic conversations with other people --OVER MY HEAD --while I'm standing there in my dress.

I called today and a sales associate put me on the phone with her. She said she couldnt talk because there were a hundred people in the store. I asked her if she could call me back and she hesitated and didnt answer. Then I asked when I could call back and she gave me a time for later this afternoon.

They are doing good work (the seamstress is) but its unbelievable dealing with the level of rudeness and unprofessional behavior.

I feel stressed and like an idiot every time I call because they make me feel like a burden.

Once I get my dress finished there, I would NOT recommend going back. I'm going to take my gown and run!!!!!!!

its amazing that they have anyone 'good' working for them if the owner's attitude is that sucky. usually talented people don't put up w/ that from employers unless they REALLY need a job. sorry you have to deal w/ the rudeness. i hope you can tolerate it until your dress if finished. i am sure it will look wonderful!!!!

i just hate people like that - just miserable, mean people - they ruin everything they touch.

the only thing i can say is thank goodness the seamstress is good and you are happy with the work.

People can be very frustrating You would think that business owners would know how to treat customers.

At least their work is good. Often you get rude people that also do terrible work!
