I booked mine about 14 months prior to my date...id do it as soon as possible only because the popular ones book fast!

the good photogs book up really fast. I know my photog already has like 30 weddings booked for 2009 so I would find which ones you are interested in and call to see if they have your date available

I booked everything about 7-8 months in advance, but I only had a 9 month engagement!

I booked everything about 12-14 months in advance. The only thing I haven't done yet is Flowers

I would get on it ASAP - you still have time to find good vendors but I wouldn't procrastinate. . .they do book up very fast!!!!! I booked my DJ about 14 months in advance and my photographer about 13 months

If it makes you feel a little better, we got all our vendors in 4-5 months. We got engage in May-06 but didn't start planning until April of 07. Everything is doable in short period of time, you just need to very careful especially when signing a contract. Don't feel rush - read it thoroughly and don't forget to bargain...hey if you don't ask, you'll not getting it!!!

i booked ALL vendors 3 months before.. quick engagement though.... but we had not problems at all!!

The only vendors I have booked r the hall & photographer. I haven't run into very many videographers. dj's, limo''s, etc that don't have availability and I only have 4 months left to go.
