Vendors

Hey guys!
So I'm just wondering what everyons's vendor time line is.
I already have my RH and DJ.
I'm going to be booking my Photo and Video next week.
I already know who i'm going with for flowers and i just need to book him.
Limo i guess is next.
I'm also looking for a hotel around the sand castle for my guests and for the after party.

What else am i missing?
I figure those are the big ones.

Then i can move on to:
Save the dates, Invites, Menu, Programs, Card Box, Cake topper, Flip flop basket, Cigar roller, and any other extras i want.

Am I missing anything?

Re: Vendors

We booked our hall and our church back in March and then photo and D.J this month. September to November my goals are video, florist and dress. After that I am thinking taking a break for the holidays. Then in January do limo and save the dates. Since one of my girls is going into the navy in June im doing my BM dresses probably April/May. That is as far as I got.

LOL, i forgot about dress!!!

I think i'm going to work on flower, limo and hotels for the time being. Break during the holidays and then in Jan-Feb start dress shopping!

I want to try to get a good amount of DIY stuff, and since my guest list is huge, i'm gonna start as early as i can.
Like with the flip flop baskets, i want to put 100-150 flip flops in organza bags with a pretty tie or something....that will take me like a month!!!! LOL

Sounds like you are right on track.. To be honest when people hear how much stuff I have done they cant even believe it because my wedding is in 2013. Personally I would get ideas but wait on the BM dresses and bridal gown. There are always new styles and you dont want to get it to early and ppl body type changes. My plan for the dresses is to wait untill alittle before the year mark! sounds like your on top of everything!!!

Re: Vendors

I totally agree with you with dresses. My schedule is insane so i figure i'll go to a dress place once a month starting in jan-feb. I want to go to like 4-5 places, so i'll prob end up picking my dress by the year mark.

So excited!

Re: Vendors

Sounds like you have a great plan going! If you plan to do anything like photo booth or DOC you might want to add that to the list of things for next year. Also an officiant.

Who are you going with for your florist? I feel like if I go into a florist now they are going to look @ me like WTH are you doing here and your wedding is over 2 years away! lol.. I plan to check them out at the bridal shows next month if there are any there.

I booked my RH last month so now I'm working on photo/video. I have 2 appts set up so far. Very excited about that! After that I'm not sure what i'll do next. As far as DJ goes I think I may book a DJ from my stepmoms church. He did her 50th bday party back in June and he was great. Had lights and played great music, kept everyone dancing and best of all he was cheap! I just can't see myself spending 1000+ on a DJ.

I need to make a timeline. Are you making table numbers? Did you pick out wedding bands yet?

Re: Vendors

Lol I'm reading the posts and was like, 'duh Angela! YOUR DrESS!'

I have my hall, DJ, photographer and make up girl. I plan to book florist sometime within next 2 weeks. Then break! I want to dress shop for me in October-ish. I may use that BM dress I posted.

I can't even begin to envision my invitations, favors, bridal party gifts, and all that jazz. Limo, officiant, hotel, honeymoon, cigar roller can wait

Ooh I have my vision for my STDs. I think I will use magnet queen.

Re: Vendors

I already know who I want for photo and the band (although I have to humor FH and see the DJ on the 8th) but I have been having reservations about booking more people.

I have nightmares that I will book a vendor and either their business will close or something horrible will happen! It's tough times and big businesses (like James Crest) close all the time- I just worry that I will book someone and then something will happen- then everyone else will be booked because it's a popular weekend to get married.

Does anyone else have these fears or am I just over-thinking as usual??

OMGGGG this is my same exact fear!!! but then again my fear is also to fall in love with a vendor only to find out he's booked for my wedding

I think I just have to get it done and book people! I just finished my school schedule (after some minor adjustments) and I'm literally either working, interning, or on campus in class from 7am until 10pm-12am EVERY DAY so I need to book people now!! I'm literally going to be dead for the next 9 months and prob not on here as much

Re: Vendors

I hear those nigthmare stories of a girl going to pick up her dress after alterations just to find an empty storefront...
after my friend's wedding, the photography company went out of business. she never got her photos or her money back..
that frightens me

Re: Vendors

Your not the only 1 Catherine. I think those same thoughts. Esp with my wedding being so far away ad the econmy being like it is. But I looking to book what I can now because I want to know exactly what im spending so I can budget my $.

Has anyone thought about getting wedding insurace?? FH and I have but havent really looked into it much.

Re: Vendors

I always have a fear that the vendor i want is going to be booked but it has not happended yet.. We are planning so early that I dont think we are going to have a problem. When you look at vendors esp photographer make sure they have an established buisness before you put any money down..

Jassy, totally no DOC for me. I'm too Type A to let anyone help LOL.
Photobooth were doing through our DJ so thats done.

As for my florist, My friend vito works for westchester florial designs, so i'm going to use him. I have no id when do go and make an apt, since the wedding is 2 years away....but then again I want him....so no idea.
